It is rare that we get a romantic dinner without the kids. Let alone a chance to dress up a little. But this trip to the world is providing us just that. Looking over some of Victoria and Alberts menues I don't see very much that dh would like. He's so picky!! Actually he usually orders a burger EVERYwhere we go unless it's an italian or mexican place.
So which restuarants could we go to that I could wear a really nice dress and not feel over dressed?

I would definitely recommend the California Grill. It is a fairly expensive restaurant so there are not too many little ones there so it could be a romantic dinner for you. I doubt that he could order a burger there but they do have very good steak!

California Grill, orFlying Fish has a great steak also. At Flying Fish food ireally good and excellent service if you go ask for Joe or Bob they are the best servers disney has. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I'd suggest Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. All great choices for romantic meals.

oops I see I left out a line somehow. It said dh likes steak and chicken as well and can usually find something he likes from a restuarant.
Thanks for the suggestions. I looked over the menus for all the suggested restuarants and they all look great. Now how to decide.

Hi there. My DH is kind of picky too. We are eating at Artist Point for our aniversary night dinner in December. Check out the menu on allears.net. It has some pretty basic things but I've heard it is one of the more quiet and romantic restaurants on property and that you are less likely to see kids there.

If you check some of the threads, many of the restaurants have gone to dressier dress requirements. This should make more of the restaurants a bit more "romantic"?

I loved the California Grill last week. But I think it was the least romantic of our three nice meals. The noise level was a little more than I expected. I found myself having to talk louder just so DH could hear me. The food was great, the server (Kelly) was fantastic. The most romantic part, however, was by far being able to watch the fireworks from the observation deck. I would eat there again in a heartbeat, but maybe not as a planned romantic meal (unless you are really only going for the fireworks).

We also ate at Citricos and the Yatchsman. Food was just as great at both of those. Of the three, I think Yatchsman was our most romantic meal. Nice table for two, didn't have to shout to talk, and we were able to enjoy a nice slow paced meal, which was fantastic. The server was also fantastic and friendly (I am sorry, but I can't remember her name). She took her cues from us. While she didn't really approach the table as often to check on us as other places did, she was always keeping an eye on us. Refills on water were made. If the wine glasses got low, and we hadn't refilled them ourselves, she came by and did so. If we were talking, she would just keep going, so as not to interupt us. When I am planning on a romantic meal, I really don't like being interupted as much, and she was attentive enough to know when the right moment to stop by was.

Citricos was also great, food and server. Unfortunatly we had to rush the meal in order to get to DTD for the Cirque show (amazing by the way). We just let the server know that we were in a bit of a time crunch, and he took it from there. We never felt rushed by him, but he made sure we got what we needed and had us out in time to catch a cab to the show. Food was great. I plan to go back on our next trip, only without having planned anything for afterwards. That way we can just enjoy...

I will say, while all three of them say business casual, I actually felt a little over dressed at times. And I wasn't wearing anything that I would consider dressey. Skirt outfits on two nights, and a nice dress the third. Guess my idea of business casual is a bit different than other people. There were children at all three, but they were all well behaved, and we hardly noticed them (I would never have even considered taking my DS2 to any of them...he is a bit wild these days. Glad we had Grandpa and Grandma take care of him for us those nights!!!).

My husband and I had a very Romantic meal at Wolfgang Pucks Dinig Room - upstairs. It looks out over the lake and the sun sets perfectly for diners. It was wonderful food - plus then we were able to go over to PI and finish the night at the Jazz club with drinks and desert to the accompaniment of a wonderful jazz singer.

Palio at the Swan is a very romantic restaurant. It's a lot quieter and more intimate than most other WDW restaurants. It even has strolling musicians! Plus, it's Italian, which you mentioned your DH likes. Afterward, you can go for a stroll around the Boardwalk.
