Hi everyone:

I'm very excited about my trip in may 28-june 3, since it will be the first time DGF is going to Disney and we could make it in Gay Days!!!:cheer2: I would like to hang around the noise and fun of gay days events, but also I would LOOOOVE to take her to a nice, romantic dinner, maybe somewhere where we could see fireworks or something. I want to do this very special, since maybe I'll pop THE QUESTION:scared1: Do you have any suggestions?, I know you will. Thank you for your advece and wish me luck::thanks:

Most romantic and Fireworks? California Grill. You need Advanmce Dining Reservations, call 1 800 WDW DINE, fast! Best of luck with the trip, and congratulations on the big step!

Although I love California Grill it can be loud, and I personally do not find it to be overly romantic. I personally would chose Citricos. My GF took me there when she whisked me away for a suprise trip to WDW for my xmas gift 2 years ago. The food is great and it is quieter and IMHO more romantic. I love the food and wine at CG, if noise doesnt bother either of you, CG is also a great choice.

You could also do the Bistro in Paris (not the big restaurant on the first floor, the smaller much more romantic one on the second floor). If you plan to be there during Illuminations, and are lucky to have a window table, you would be able to see the fireworks. You could plan it so the fireworks are beginning just as you are finishing dinner and are about to start on dessert when you pop the question. When you are making the reservations, mention it is a special dinner since you will be proposing so you are hoping for a window seat to see the fireworks. I'm not sure if it will help, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

If you don't mind foregoing the fireworks, Artist Point or Yachtsman's Steakhouse are very nice and can be intimate (especially Artist Point).

Another place you can view the fireworks and dine is Narcoosee's. However, I've not ever been to pleased by the food or service there. Many people are though.

If you really want to go all out (no fireworks though) there is always Victoria and Albert's.

BlueZoo is intimate. But again, no fireworks.

If you want total chaos, there's 'Ohana and fireworks! :D

OH!!! How about a Specialty Cruise for the fireworks after dinner and then you can ask your question on the cruise?

AP definitley has intimate fine dining nailed down. And unlike Narcoosee's the manager at AP actually enforces the dress code (sorry mini rant If I am going to spend that kind of money on dinner and wine, I do not want to see anyone but the kitchen staff wearing ballcaps in the dining room. I also do not want to see sleeveless t-shirts on men, or short shorts on women, etc...). The food and wine at AP are top notch. It will be a nice and long dinner, not rushed.

Like the previous poster, I am not a fan of Narcoosee's. As I mentioned earlier, if you want to the ambience of GF, my vote is Citricos.

Going back to CG for a minute. I love the food/wine/service there. CG and Citricos are my two favs. CG if you have an earlier seating allows you to come back for the fireworks. They have an observation deck outside.

Do you have a scenario in your mind on how you want to pop the question?

And BTW, I forgot to say congratulations.

You can arrange a private dining experience and custom-tailor it to your specifications through the GF.

Jiko at AKL is also very romantic. No fireworks, but you could do a "moonlit" walk to see the animals on the savanah.

Isn't there also a yacht you can rent out that sails on the Seven Seas Lagoon and have dinner catered on it? I think I checked into this years ago for my family, but we never did it. That would be romantic (and expensive).

You can rent out the Grand 1 from the Grand Floridian for a Wishes cruise with dining reception. I myself prefer the wooden yacht that is rented out of the Y&B for the Illuminations cruise. It also has more proposals on it than anywhere else on property!

You can also call the wedding planners at 321-939-4610, they not only do weddings, but proposals as well!

California Grill has my full endorsement - they pipe the music in when the fireworks start and if you can arrange window seating I don't think anything else beats it. Plus if you want to propose during the fireworks, a lot of people go out onto the observation deck and it will be quieter inside with ambient music to boot.

Are you talking about the reproduction Chris Craft, the Breathless? That is one amazing boat!

The Grand is nice, and would be quite romantic. It's not really yacht like? More like a cabin cruiser, but by no means does that detract from the experience of being on a cruise on the lake with it.

I think (but am not certain) that it's about $350 and hour?

I love the food and the wine list at Jiko, but don't really find it intimate?

I like the booths at Raglan Road, believe it or not. They come off as being quite intimate, however not sure they would seat just two there as they are meant for larger parties. Plus, it's not the best place on property for quiet or fine dining. ;)

I don't think there are very many "intimate" dining places at Disney. Most are quite big. But I think the atmosphere and lighting are very romantic at Jiko, and the food is great. But as is evident by this list, there are a number of options at WDW.

You have been wonderful and I thank you so much:thumbsup2 but Does anybody has another idea for proposing than the usual "ring in the glass " or something. I would like it to be creative and special, you know, so she won't have any other option than saying "I DO"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: Thank you very much again, and hopefully we'll see some of you over . I will be there from may 28-june, so if you see a blondie tripping and mumbling over some proposal dinner:confused: , Hey you guessed right .............That's me!:scared1:

I thought I read that Breathless was taken out of service.

Since I dont know you or your GF, your question is a tough one. I did a google and the following were the first couple of sites.

On the below, take the living seas a bit further and arrange to have a diver hold up a sign popping the questions. I know you can arrange this with the Coral Reef.

And dont forget to check out the wedding board here on the DIS.

If you will be seeing any shows during your stay, sometimes if you can get in contact with the show manager before hand they will help out with proposals. I've seen some fun ones on my many visits to the Hoop Dee Doo :thumbsup2

looks like all our favorite 'adult' spots have already been mentionned but here's a full endorsement for:

- jiko: for the amazing wine list, intimate settings, dark ambiance and chef annette's graceful earthy cuisine and what a better way to end the romantic evening than with a leisurely outdoor stroll visiting akl's savannah, firepit, etc...

- california grill: for the heavenly desserts, the piped in wishes soundtrack, our favorite waiter walter and the fantastic french martinis!

- artist point: for the amazing water views, warm atmosphere and rustic settings.

i have also had a great experience at the brown derby but i would only recommend going for a very, very late seating and cozying up in one of their large booths.

have a wonderful trip!

What about something involving a white chocolate Cinderella's slipper? Maybe inside on a tiny little one that would be presenting alongside whatever kind of dessert that you both ordered? Hope that makes sense..

Congrats!

The Disney Florist also has several items that would be easy to include a ring in for proposals...
