My husband and I will have one evening alone when we take our trip this winter to celebrate my birthday. I'd like something romantic, and less likely to have too many children. I love kids, but I'd like to get away for 1 night, lol. Any ideas besides Victoria & Albert's? It's a possiblility, if I don't give my husband the bill....:rotfl2:

I am doing the same for my hubbie in august. From what I gather from other threads and posters, any of the signature restaurants will have less children and more "distinguished" menu.
We chose California Grill on the 15th floor of the Contemporary. Lot's of rave reviews and supposed to be romantic, I guess you can see Wishes at MK from there. On their balcony that they have.

I also hear Narcoosees at the GF is also good.

On a side note, V and A has a stricter dress code than some of the other signature dining restaurants, DH would have to wear a jacket. I don't know if that would be a factor or not?

Sometimes there are children there, but I would request a window seat and enjoy the evening with the beautiful view. I would suggest Citrico's, always one of my favorite meals on property...it is at the Grand Floridian..

Im trying to do the same and looking at the menus wouldn't eat in any of the suggested restaurants (too much fish at Narcoose and the smell makes me sick, begrudge paying for V&A and ate at CG and hated it). Any other ideas?

I suggest Artist Pointe at the Wilderness Lodge.

Found it to be romantic for our anniversary dinner and the food was excellent. I don't recall any kids in the dining area while we were there and if there were, they were not "acting like kids."

I've read a lot of reports lately of "rowdy" kids (& families) at California Grill. And that some people coming straight from the parks in sweaty park attire not necessary with the dress code has reduced the romantic atmosphere. Just an FYI.

Trying Narcossee's this year for our anniversary so can't say how that one is yet. Also trying Yachtsman Steakhouse.

If you're looking for fewer kids and more romance, I'd look at Jiko or Bistro de Paris (in Epcot, above Chefs de France). Take a look at the menus to see which you'd prefer.

I would suggest Artists Point, the tables seemed very spead out so even if there are kids you aren't right next to them.
Also Yachtsman Steakhouse is quite intimate (we've been 3 times over 3 years and didn't notice any bad behaviour)
But then again it could be down to the night you go, there are always going to be parents who don't appreciate Disney is for everyone and certain standards should be applied (which should be inforced by the CMs)

Exactly the two I was going to suggest...but then again, I'm biased b/c Bistro is where I proposed to DW many moons ago...only downside on Bistro is that they don't do the whole 180 day ADR thing, you can only make your ressie 30 days out...

Excluding V&A, Bistro is most romantic. It's not on the dinng plan and it does not have a children's menu. These two things keep many diners away. Its expensive, won't end up that much cheaper than V&A, but it's intimate, romantic, great service, very good food.

If you still don't want to spend that much or want to use dining plan credits, next I would sugget JIKO or perhaps Citricos. Most of the other signaures have lots of children dining at them. Ca Grill is very noisy with all of that glass, tables are close together, lots of young children waiting for fireworks. Artist Point may be a little quieter but the decor is log cabin and not romantic at all.

I would choose a non-DDP restaurant. There will be less kids in those. Off the top of my head, I'd suggest Bistro de Paris, Wolfgang Puck Upstairs, & the Swan/Dolphin restaurants (bluezoo, Shula's, or Il Mulino). From there, I'd choose which menu I prefer. If it must be a DDP restaurant, a late ADR at Artist Point would be my choice. IMO, the window seats can be very romantic.
