Would an 18 in suitcase be too small for my boys? I've found some Star Wars American Tourister rolling suitcases that would be perfect for them for our upcoming trip. It needs to hold a weeks' worth of clothing or so, as we will wash clothes at least once. We'll be traveling for almost two weeks total. I don't have a bag at home to compare...

I think they would be used often, even after this trip, as we take weekend trips frequently, but I'm concerned that they are too small for a long trip! (Maybe I just need to order the Minnie Mouse or Frozen one for dd, since it isn't an issue with her tiny clothes!)

My DD is 11 now, but she has been using an 18 inch suitcase for years (long and short trips). It is never a problem as long as she packs efficiently (i.e. rolling t-shirts, etc). I like her having the small bag because she can roll it through the airport herself.

Make sure whatever you buy has good wheels. Don't sacrifice quality for cute- it's possible to get both, but bad wheels can be *really* frustrating for a younger user. 18 inches should be fine.

Our girls still fit all of their belongings into an 18 inch - and we typically stay for 11 days at a time!

Amen! My kids are 10 and 11 and anything w/o the 360 spinner wheels is a nightmare. Always tipping over, getting sideways, hurting their arms, etc.
