Roller Coasters without an adult?

My friend will be taking her daughter to WDW later this year. The friend cannot ride roller coasters; is there a way for the daughter, who meets height requirements, to ride something like BTMR without a guardian riding with them?

Depends on the child's age. If she's under 7 years old, she can't ride anything without being accompanied by someone over 14. Otherwise, she can ride by herself.

When is your friend going? As it turns out, BTMRR and RnR are both going to be closed for refurbishments, so she will want to check the dates.

Your friend can wait in line with her daughter then tell them she's not riding when she gets to the riding platform. There will be an exit for her.

If they meet the height and age requirements, then the guardian can wait in line with them and just exit via the chicken exit. I can't ride coasters either so I've done that quite a few times with my own DD.

Thanks! There was concern since the daughter is under 13, she had to be with an adult at all times, even on rides. I'll pass along the heads up about the refurbs.

She's good. She just has to have a parent with her to enter the park. Rock n Roller Coaster will be closed October 27 through November 9 and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently closed and is scheduled to open November 19.

At 13, she'll be fine to ride alone. She just cannot accompany a child under the age of 7 onto a ride (which isn't the case here).

To summarize:
Children must be 7 years or older to ride alone.
Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a person 14 or older.
