Let's compile a listing of roller coasters by intensity! I am interested because DD can only handle the mild ones, and everyone's opinion of "mild" varies. WDW is my main interest (I can't decide if we should get FP for SDD or SDMT), but please include others as a point of reference. I haven't been on many recently, so my starting list will be very short.

Ranking from LEAST INTENSE to MOST INTENSE

Cocoa Cruiser (Hershey Park, PA)
Barnstormer (MK)
Splash Mountain (MK)
Grover's Vapor Trail (Sesame Place, PA)
Space Mountain (MK)
Batwing (Six Flags America)

Barnstormer
Splash
Thunder Mountain
7 Dwarfs
Space Mountain (due to dark)
Slinky Dog* (from what I’ve read)
Everest
Rockin Roller Coaster

Definitely FP SD and SDMR!!

I would move splash down quite a bit. It's a substantial drop.

Barnstormer
7DMT
BTMR
TT (not really a rollercoaster but has elements that fit)
Space
Splash
ToT (ditto TT)
EE
RNR

Splash has a drop but it’s safe enough they don’t need restraints. Lap bars were installed in 2011 (after almost 20 years of running) at WDW to prevent stupid people from standing up or goofing around.

I guess it goes back to how you definine intensity but there's nothing close to the speed of a 70 ft drop in 7DMT or BTMR.

What has a 70ft drop? Splash's is less than 50, only 10' taller than the biggest drops on both SDMT and BTM (according to google at least).
Though all are very, very mild in my opinion so it's hard for me to rate them.

You're right. I could have sworn it was 70 but it is 50. I would still stay it's quite a bit more intense then any of the swooping type drops on either 7DMT or BTMR. It's straight down and rather steep. The other two are not nearly as steep or fast, at least to me.

While there are FUN coasters at Disney......YES.
Intense....110% no not at all.
I love Space and Thunder...EE and D.L. coasters.....But, Intense, they are not
Not compared to the Beast or Millennium force...Diamondback etc

Barnstormer
7DMT
SDD*
BTM
Splash
TT
ToT
EE
SM
RnR

*Haven't ridden, but seems very similar to 7DMT.

I wouldn't really consider any of the first 6 as intense. Of the last 4, ToT maybe only because of the theme and drops, EE because of it going backwards, SM because of the darkness, and RnR mainly because of how quickly it takes off. Still, none really compare to the intensity of any of the standard roller coasters at a place like Cedar Point, for instance. I'd rate Barnstormer about the same intensity as Wilderness Run (formerly the Gemini Jr), and 7DMT about as intense as the Woodstock Express at Cedar Point.

I'm with you on that. I'm curious to find out what other people think, but my kids and I always thought of all the Disney coasters as starter coasters. Great themes, fun rides, but nowhere near what I'd consider intense. I'd have said they were all mild, with the exception being the launch on Rock and Roller coaster, which is probably a tad higher than mild.

7DMT is least intense of all - very smooth, just fast in places. It's the 'only' coaster I can ride anymore with neck and back issues. Barnstormer and BTMR are way more intense, have not been able to ride those in years.

It's easier just to name which ones are mild and which ones are intense. If you don't like more intense roller coasters you will probably NOT be able to do, space mountain(fast jerking motion), expedition everest (some higher drops and it goes backwards), rockin roller coaster (the most intense one), and possibly spash mountain( if it's the drops that bother you). Those are the only ones I would call intense. Rockin Rollercoaster is the most intense.

The others are mild, and my 5 year old who wouldn't ride an intense coaster will ride all of these- 7DMT, SDD, BTMRR, Barnstormer, etc. They are smooth and don't have any big drops, or wild jerking. None of the rides in Disney are comparable to an actual intense roller coaster, but the ones above could be intense enough to scare people who just don't like roller coasters at all.

I haven't been on Barnstormer, but of the remaining:

Most mild- Slinky Dog, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Both are very smooth experiences and don't jostle you around too much.
Somewhere in the middle- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain. No inversions, but more intense twists and turns, and Space Mountain feels more intense by nature of being in complete darkness.
Most intense- Everest, Rock'n'Roller Coaster. Everest sends you backwards into the dark, while RnR features an initial boost into an inversion.

Personally I think Rock'n'Roller Coaster is my favorite on property, though I found Slinky Dog quite enjoyable too!

This has been helpful. I have some motion sickness and do just fine on Barnstormer and Seven Dwarfs.
As my kids get older they are asking to go on Big Thunder.
You make me feel reassured to do that one and Slinky Dog!

I can no longer take the startoff acceleration of Rock & Roller Coaster but I could still take all of the rest of it.

SDD was fun and mild. However, I was a bit surprised by the first turn up the hill. Both times I rode I was sitting on the left, and if you look to your left I think it could be a bit much for some people with a fear of heights. I'm scared of heights, but oddly not on rollercoasters so it didn't bother me one bit. But my nephew (11) rode on that side once and said he didn't want to the next time.

I'm not a fan of roller coasters at all but I love 7DMT, SDD, and BTMR. Splash Mountain isn't a roller coaster but if you don't like drops, I'd avoid it. That last drop feels like it's straight down.
