We are coming home to BWV in late October and have a 1 BR vacation home for our family of 4 (DSs are 9 and 8 and share the sleeper sofa). Has anyone ever gotten a roll-away bed brought in for a 4th or 5th family member? If so, where did you put it? I tried member services but they've already closed for today. Just wondering...

sorry but I don't belive you can get a rollaway at a DVC room,an alternative is to bring a inflatable mattress, good luck:smooth:

Good luck, but I'm not sure a rollaway would fit in a 1 bedroom! You'd be better off getting an inexpensive twin size air mattress and trying to fit that in, either in the bedroom area, or in the living room under the kitchen bar.

I knwo the DVC does not supply rollaway beds. The maximum # of folks allowed in a 1BR is 4 I think(or maybe 5 if one of them is under age 3).

If you brought a twin blow up mattress, you could probably put it on the floor in the master BR. Once you open the sleeper sofa in the livingroom at BWV,BCV,VWL, the floor space in there is pretty much taken up.

As an FYI(and not intended at all as a slam to any of the DVC properties...I love them all for different reasons), OKW has the largest units, thus the most floor space if you were to want to have more room to put an air mattress in the livingroom part.

When BWV first was announced, they were going to allow roll aways but quickly changed their mind. It is a matter of policy not to allow them. They should furnish you sheets and a blanket in this situation but are not required to do so. I know they have for others in a similar circumstance.

Thanks for the info everyone! I think we'll be OK for our trip in a few days but I'm afraid by October, DSs are going to need separate sleeping arrangements. Air mattress is a great idea - will have to look into that further. Thank you!

Definetly get the aerobed. I've heard soem bought differnet makes and they ened up taking them back and buying the aerobed. We used an aerobed at AKL just a couple weeks ago. I was traveling with my Mom and 2 little girls. We stayed for 7 nighst, but my Dad decided last mintute to fly down and he was there for 3 nights. I found a twin aerobed on clearance for next to nothing at Richs days ebfore we left. It was perfect. We were planning on putting my 2 1/2 year old or 5 year old on it, but my Dad ended up on it and thought it slept great. (The kids started fighting over it.) Worked out fine cause we put it by the door and we couldn't hera him snore as much!
We've stayed in a studio at BCV before and I know a twin woudl fit by the door there, too. I've heard of peopel on these boards fitting a full and even a queen in there, but I just don't see how! The aerobed blows up and defaltes in seonds. Very easy to roll up each morning, too.

Ask your DSs which one wants to stay home instead of going to WDW. These kids are only 8 and 9. They should be able to sleep together unless one wants to volunteer to stay home.

LOL! I doubt either would volunteer to stay home!

One thing we have done at OKW when we have had two that couldn't share a bed, is we have let one child use the sofa cushions on the floor with an extra sheet, blanket and pillow. Most kids think that is a great adventure anyway!

I think we'll look at the inflatable mattress or aerobed - it's only a consideration and that's primarily due to both of them growing like weeds and being somewhat restless sleepers (at home). Guess we'll just need to run 'em a little harder in the parks - that would probably address the issue!

My two younger sons, ages 15 and 17, are 6'2" and 6'1" and weigh almost 500 pounds combined. It's been a long, long time since the two of them shared a bed. :)

We're bringing three aerobeds to the OKW next week, and we're staying in a grand villa. At least we'll have the floor space!

Overstock.com has pretty nice ones for only $49.99 (Doc, can I mention this?) and they have a really fast delivery time. We also pack up our own sheets. It makes the luggage a little heavy, but I bring a lot of muscle with me. :)
