We are heading to Disneyland for a few days in September (26 - 29) for our first family disney trip (DD3 and DS1). Scouting mission for the big family trip in May. Staying at the Sheraton Park.

I am with you on this one!I am sooo excited to finally be in double digits too!! Don't want to wish summer away, but I can't help myself.![]()
NiceMillerette, DD2 and Me, along with my in-laws will be there Sep. 24-29. Staying at the Sheraton Park.
DH and I will be there 9/8-9/17 with DS3 and DS5. This is our "Last Hurrah" before our AP's expire in Oct. and we move to Mich.
Hi there! My DH and I are taking our first-ever trip to Disneyland this September 23-29 after annual trips to WDW for years. We simply canNOT wait. We'll be staying at Paradise Pier with a theme park view. Nice to meet you all!
DH and I will be there Sept 5th - 8th for our 10 year anniversary! Not positive where we are staying yet, hoping for GC if we are able to get a good deal with our AP or through family that is a disney employee. If not, we will most likely be at Staybridge Suites.
Wow, just counted and I am 74 days out until the day we drive down! We're driving Labor Day and will be in the park Sept 4.
Saw in another thread that HydroGuy predicted that day/week to be the lowest crowds of the year (as I hoped). I'm wondering what that will mean this year!?! Will DCA still be crazy but less so than now, with DL at normal 1/10 levels? Or will just CarsLand still be busy but the rest of DCA will slow down? Obviously with less shows times in the schedule we'll still need to plan ahead for WOC and F!, I assume.
Trying to weigh out whether EE will still be very valuable at that time. I'd love to stay on site and use EE every day. Is MM still a huge advantage in the slow times (on a usual Sept for example)? And do most people still take breaks in the afternoon with the shorter 10-8 opening hours? I know my kids will nap better in the stroller so we plan to power through - nap time is FP/Child Swap time for DH and me!
Would love some tips or guesses at how to make the most of the parks in Sept this year as we get more insights into Carsland, Carthay for WOC, EE, etc.
Awesome! We are heading to Disneyland for a few days in September (26 - 29) for our first family disney trip (DD3 and DS1). Scouting mission for the big family trip in May. Staying at the Sheraton Park.
81 days till our Disney Cruise, we are doing the Wonder repo from Vancouver to LA then 4 days at the Grand Californian Villas (Sept 16th to the 20th). Since I had to pay the balance for our cruise this week, I am now in countdown mode. We are excited that the Halloween overlay should be complete (we have a big Jack Skellington fan with us). Hoping the crowds will have died down, since most folks are not crazy like us to pull their kids out of school after it has just started. Here is hoping for some great late summer weather and no crowds!!

So excited for you!!! Welcome to the group!!![]()
Thanks, foxykendra, that's super nice of you to say!
Re: CLOSURES. Perhaps quite a few of you have already come across this tidbit, but there's a rampant rumor out there that Indy will be down for refurb Sept.-Dec. No firm dates, no official confirmation yet. All speculation at this point. Supposedly the ride is in desperate need of it though... Since BTMRR is also rumored to be down at the same time, some ppl are doubtful so many big attractions will be down at the same time.
Frankly I'm a little nervous about this... I know no matter how bad a ride needs a refurb, no one wants it to happen on THEIR vacay (Prayer of the Selfish DISer: "Please, Dear God, don't let BTMRR AND Indy be down while I'm there. Please God, I don't ever ask you for anything and this really means A LOT, God. These are 2 of my fave rides and this is our last trip to DLR for a LONG time. PLEASE don't let them shut anything down until Oct. Let someone else's trip be spoiled instead... Please?").
I really have a hard time with rides being down. BTMRR was down in WDW on the last trip, but I can let that one go if needed I really wanted to do Indy. 2 big rides at the same time would not be normal for them I think. I am going to cross every part of my body I possibly can that I am right and not wrong!![]()
Guess we just have to be patient and see how it all pans out!!!![]()
Welcome aboard! it seems like there are a lot of people doing the DCL at that time, so you will be in great company. We have been to WDW more the DL, and my boys were not big enough last time.Add us in...
Coming in off the DCL
16-19th we will be there... Any more news on what's closing?
I'm comming all the way from the east coast to ride Indy, so it can not be closed.
Count us in too! I know the title of the thread is mid-Sep but I didn't see an early one & it seems a lot of people are posting here that are going early in the month
We are arriving Sep 1st and staying 1 night at hojo (only concierge available onsite which we won't pay for) unless something opens up, then the rest of the time (Sep 2-8) at the GCH. This is a surprise trip- our first one since 2007. Normally I pull the kids out of school so they know ahead of time (get homework, etc) but we start very late this year (Sep 10) so I can surprise them!
The kids have been watching lots of specials on tv (the commercial breaks during Cars the other night, the planning dvd we have left over from our trip a few months ago, etc) and they want SO badly to go to Carsland. I can't wait!
We normally only get a few days in the parks because we typically add on with a cruise or just make a weekend of it but this time we are going for 7 days! We will be doing a day at the beach and also legoland then taking the parks slow for 5 days. yay!
Sep 1-8 (hojo 1 night, GCH for 6 nights)
Me, DH, DS, DD
Flying into LGB on jetblue miles!
I'm just glad that my kids are at the age where they expect nothing and have no idea of the possiblities of the park. A ride closure just gives us another reason to come back again.
That is good to know. I do not like the food at Chef Mickey's, but my three kids love it. The food at Cafe Mickey's in Paris was the best meal I had there. So, I am hopeful Goofy's Kitchen is yummy.
