Kaleigh update: This has been a very difficult time. She has cried (screamed) most of the time since last thursday. We have had very little sleep and our nerves are completely shot. It finally culminated yesterday: I got her sick! She woke up with a very stuffy nose. She must have had a sore throat for days before that. The doctor said her throat was all red and she was congested, so he put her on antibiotics. I am trying to get over my sinus infection and bronchitis. Jerry was actually able to go to work for a whole day today! I hope we are turning the corner.

This has been a very cruel joke to finally get Kaleigh and get sick the day we bring her home just so I can get her sick.

It is REALLY windy in New Jersey this evening & my daughter is flying to San Francisco from Philadelphia to see her California boyfriend. I am really nervous!

Congratulation Grandma! I just love the name Dylan.

I haven't seen a posting from Darren (but maybe I missed it). I guess someone knows he is back. I hope he had a great time in WDW.

The Dudettes countdown to WDW is on & if I knew how to do the countdown I would put it on (I told you I am computer illiterate). DD#1 & #2 leave on December 7th but are taking separate flights. Bonnie is flying all over the East Coast to fly for free. Joyce is staying for her grandsons birthday & is coming down on the 8th. I just can't wait! Rooms are really cheap this week - any takers?

Denine hang in there girlfriend. It really does get better! They finally DO start sleeping through the night and after you catch up on sleep you feel like a human being again. Remember - wrap the baby real tight to sleep (they like that) & always on her back.

Sent the kids to school yesterday but had to go get Lianna mid day. Went to the doctor today and she has been put on 2 inhalers and zithromax. Now, my question..... it says give her 2 doses on day 1. Got the scrip filled and gave her first dose at 6:30pm - do I give her another before bed or two doses tomorrow? I figure between the nurses and poor Lori's kids someone can guide me!!!!!! No ear infection -- pediatrician called it a super infection somewhere. Plus of course her wheezing. Next time I think I'll just give amox about day 5!!!

Thanks in advance for the advice -- please!

p.s. man is that zithromax costly!

I'd take that to mean give her the 2nd dose before bed tonight.

Denine, my heart goes out for you. You must be feeling rotten inside and out. You didn't plan on getting her sick so here's my 'Dear Abby' impersonation. Forgive yourself, quick. Here's my other little tidbit of advice as a Mom who had a crier, too. Cody (now the easiest going guy in the world) had a period of just plain crying for no apparent reason. I would just hold him or rock him thru it, but in the meantime, get a splitting headache and be clenching my teeth, actually hear nerves fraying, etc. Being the 'Granola mommy' I couldn't just leave him to go thru it alone. Here's what I did and it really helped. I borrowed some hearing protection goggles, and wore them while humming happily to Cody. My relaxed vibes must have rubbed off onto him, because he calmed down much sooner (like in one hour instead of three )

Hi everyone! I'm have been miserable all day! My sinus infection has spred and now I have an infection in my right eye. I woke up this morning with my full of "gook"! This is all I need. Just when evryone over here is getting better, I get sick! Oh well, I'll live. I'll be calling it an early night tonight. I'm gonna try to beat this thing!

I spoke to Denine after she posted tonight. It was quiet when we talked (well at least on her end). She and Jerry seem to be hanging in there. I told her it does get better.

Sorry no pictures today I was feeling yucky all day so I didn't leave the house. I promise I will get them tomorrow!

Jeanne, we would love to go down with the dudettes then, but since we were there three times this year, I think Dec. is out !

Congratulations Patty! That's great news! I like the name Dylan. I'm sure nana will spoil him like the rest of the kids!

Well I'm gonna go. If I can't sleep I'll be back on!

I have been missing in action!!! I must admit I've been luking a little but mostly just been so busy.

It is soooo cold here this morning. Where is St. John when you need it??? That's right. It's just where we left it. Why did we leave?? Why couldn't we stay? Why do I have to go to work today? Why can't I stay home and play? Why? Why? Why?

Sinuses are killing me today. I hope the allergies do not turn into a sinus infection like yours Julie (and especially the gunky eye thing!!).

I'll be on this evening. I really miss you all and wish we had spent more time together. I ditto all going to go see Darren when he gets the job!!!

Good morning

After the short spell with snow and cold it was in the 70's here in Colorado Springs yesterday. I cleaned out some flower beds.

Hopefully it won't last as I love snow and cold this time of year and I am thinking no snow, no water next summer. I don't like the water restriction we are in now that started last summer.

Dylan makes nine great- grandchildren now and only 6 of the 14 grandchildren are married and only 4 of them have children. We could end up with a lot of great -grandchildren!

Julie-thanks for the song. I have missed you guys. Tried lurking a bit but it is kinda tough when they only give you a 5 minute break and that is to run to the 'room". I hope you feel better soon. WHERE IS GARRY!!!!!!!

Darren-I only saw the one post from you-still catching up with the jet lag? I can't wait until February also. I hope they let you know early if you get the job so we can all book our next cruise and request you as our server or whatever!

Yes Sandy the weather is beautiful. I hope it lasts at least until after the weekend as Patti and Ken are coming up to pick up our van. They bought it for Julie so she can have a car seat for the baby. I don't know when we are getting our new one...sometime this month I hope. But Dick has a truck so we aren't without wheels...

I hope everyone gets well soon...it isn't fun being sick and especially during the holidays.

We really didn't hide in our staterooms..I guess you all must have eaten the early dinner time and the ship is big....lol I did see you and Bonnie a few times. It would have been nice to have been able to spend some time with all of you though.

Right I think i'm finally over the jet lag and I've finally come down to earth and got back into the normal routine. Although I keep getting up and going to bed late, I think I'm still on Eastern time.

Hi Sally, you are definitely right. The ship is big. We ate in the same restaurant and at the same time as Susan and Diana and only saw Susan twice. Never, never, saw Diana. I thought it was funny not to see you until you were walking back to the ship from St. Thomas. Never Barb and the gang.

Don't worry about the bedtime, Darren. Ted and I have been going to bed by 9 here. Don't know if it is because of the colds or because it is 11 Florida time. Oh well, been getting lots of sleep.

Speaking of sleep, sure hope Denine, Jerry and Kaliegh can grab a few winks tonight.

Jeanne, don't tempt us with cheap room rates. Have to save our wad for another cruise------the cruise we are ALL taking when Darren gets his job!

Speaking of another cruise, I just picked up some brochures from Princess and Royal Caribbean. Everyone keeps telling me that DCL is so much more expensive than the others. When I got to comparing I really didn't see that much difference. Maybe, 50.00 or so more per person. Can't see that it would break the bank! Perhaps, they run better specials.

Hi all! I'm feeling a little better today. The eye thing has improved. Yes Sandy I did get your post about the wine, thank you! thank you! I'm gonna try to hunt a bottle down, but I will probably have no luck.

Got our pictures back today!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT........I'm missing the wine party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm missing a roll and either misplaced it around here or it got left on the cruise ship...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I'm gonna rip this place apart and I hope I find the missing roll!!!!!!!!

Garry has been lurking because he can't kick this bug! It seems he got the bug on the cruise then got a sinus infection and now he seems he has the flu!!!!!!!!!!! He promises he will be back soon. He was well enough today to take Makenzie to her pre- school field trip to the Olive Garden this morning. Then he came home and crashed! I feel bad for him. My head is still killing me, but I will survive!

What pictures I do have I will try to get out tonight. I have a few good ones of Darren singing and a group shot of the dudettes, Denine and Jerry, Darren, and Garry and I from the talent show that Darren was in. I have a picture of the midnight buffet and in the dark background there is Lori and her hubby and there's another of Jeanne in the background. They are really dark but I will send them out. I don't know if my camera wasn't working as well as I thought or I can't take good pictures. I would love to get pictures of each family that was from this board. I like to look back and be able to see everyone again. So if any of you have pictures of you and your family, I would love a copy. And any other cruise type pictures. I LOVE my wine party pics that have been sent and I have printed them out and have shown a lot of people the crazy crew we sailed with. I really miss all of you!

Is is great to see Darren and Bonnie checking in! I'll have to start singing again when I feel better. Hey, we all could have sang the theme to the Love Boat on talent night when they asked if anyone else had a talent! Oh well, next time!
