Roll Call - April 3, 2004 Eastern Magic!

Pop Century is Disney's new resort that their opening this December. It's a value resort, so it's not to expensive for one night.

Hey All,

Myself and my 2 dd's ages 16 and 11 will be on that cruise as well.

I think you are a bit confused as Easter is the 11th and we will all be off the ship by then.

We were originally booked on the "Easter" cruise (our 3rd) but my school district changed our calendar to include Passover....so therefore we had to travel the week prior to Easter.( I am a teacher)

My 16 yo is concerned that she will not have a good time as when we rebooked on the ship last Easter, there were many of us dis'ers who were going to be together again.

I hope I can hook her up, as I have in the past...so she will be comfortable.

The last time we all wore lime green Mickey stickers from the Home Depot paint section to designate ourselves at the port at check-in. We wrote our screen names on the stickers as well. It was great fun...we had the party started before we even boarded!

Hope to hear more from all of you.

Hey FanofDis, where in NJ are you....and you have 16yo s?

Who said it was a Easter Cruise, I think it says Eastern. But anyway, those stickers sound like a great idea. We should all talk about it when the time comes closer to our departure. I hope to meet some of you on the boat. Feel like I know some of you already. :wave2:

dcbrown

Good to here you clan will be aboard. My DS 16 and DD 14 nwill be there - close to your kids ages. Last year the kids had the "best vacation ever" and are really looking forward to meeting new and old friends at the teen hangout.

Tell your DD - not to worry there will be plenty of great kids to meet and fun to be had!

And it does say EASTERN not Easter! LOL!

Anyone try to make reservations at the Raddison for the night before? I looked at their web site and it looked like they didn't have any rooms for 4 left for April 2nd.

I have reservations ....but I made them at the same time I booked the Cruise....last spring ....I like to plan ahead.....also booked the Hard Rock Hotel for 2 nights when we come in on the 10th/11th.

I passed the info on to my daughter Trekker...she was slightly excited when I told her you had a 16yo son!!! She is a very congenial kid and I am sure she will meld w/your 14yo d as well!!!

Way to go, dcbrown - I'm impressed! I guess I should have thought more about my plans (other than the cruise itself) earlier!

Got a reservation last night for the Radisson! Got my flights set too. Just need to work on rental car for the drive in and town car for the drive back. Anyone used a town car before? I'm not sure what time I should tell them to pick up at the port.

Thanks!

We used Tiffany town car. You don't have to tell them a time. They'll just be there waiting. They will tell you the procedure when they bring you to the pier.

We have used Florida Tours and Mears for Town Car service...both were very good...FL Tours had a coupon on site last year and the owner is usually the driver!

This is the only thing I did not book yet!

Where are you guys flying out from? I haven't found decent airfare yet out of Philly!

I always use Spirit out of Atlantic City....We have the 3pm flight on Friday the 2nd....when I booked in the spring, it was $239...I believe.
Don't know where in PA you are ...but ACY is a great alternative to Philly.
It looks like we spend our lunch hour doing the same thing....reading the boards!

We are flying out of BWI. Airfaire was pretty high ($350) but I was afraid to wait any longer. All fares had gone up since I fist started checking on them and I was afraid we wouldn't get the times we needed. We had to fly Delta to use some vouchers that we had.

kpgclark - we are only using the town car one way (from the port). Do you think I need to tell them a time or just tell them where to pick us up?

Thanks!

What time is your flight out when you leave? Usually the drivers just get there whenever and chat in the parking lot. We had a late flight out and we told the driver we were going to stay on the ship as long as possible. He said he would be there talking in the parking lot.

If you are using one of the main services ...just tell them DCL....they will know when to be there....they check the arrivals just like they do for flights as there is an occasional delay.

DCBrown:Pinkbounc :smooth: :Pinkbounc :smooth: :Pinkbounc pirate:

Our flight out is at 11:50 so we won't be able to spend any extra time in FL. I'll just tell them it's for a return trip from DCL.

Thanks for the info!

Hello to all! We are going on our first Disney cruise April 3rd! I will be going with my Mom & Dad (in their 50's), My Grandparents (in their 80's) and my family us, (in our 30's) our two kids (:earsgirl: 8 & :earsboy: 10 ) I read that some of you have kids the same ages, I would love for them to get together. We went to Disney World in 99, it was fun, went with the same group of family members, all we did was :chat: argue drove me crazy  at least we will get our own room and do things on our own. I have been researching about the Dolphin Fantaseas program the ship has at St. Maarten and although it is pricey, we will sacrafice. My daughter wants to be a marine scientist. Let me know if you have had any experience with the dolphin trip. I hope to hear from someone soon. Nice to meet you all, Stephanie. Got to get backon my diet now:laughing:

can't wait to go

Welcome to our little (but growing) group! I will have a 7 year old daughter and a son who will be almost 10 on the cruise. There is another group with children about the same age/sex as ours as well. This will be a great cruise and we can't wait to go! Last time we cruised everyone met up right after the boat drill. We'll have to schedule a meet closer to cruising time. I also ran into some people in line that day too.

Hi Monchichi welcome. This will be our first Disney Cruise as well. Our DD is also 8, maybe the girls can get together, that would be fun to know someone. Does your DD go on the computer? Maybe she would want an e pal or something . Anyway we are planning on doing the Dolphin and Stingray encounter, is that the excursion you are referring to? It is a bit pricey but it sounds great. We are also planning to go snorkeling, and the DH and DD are going to parasail. I cannot wait to go on this trip! By the way, HI to KPG haven't talked to you in awhile my Long Island Friend, hope all is well!

Hey there on Long Island! I really have to get out there to visit my Grandmother... Right now we are focused on our upcoming trip to DisneyWorld.
