RoL without FP

Our party for our upcoming trip has recently ballooned from 2 to 7. I just cannot get FP's for RofL for everybody. They are all gone already.

What is the conventional wisdom for seeing RoL on standby these days? If we get in line 45 minutes before showtime is that enough or do we need a full hour or even longer?

That, like everything else at WDW, depends on the crowd level that day.

Arriving earlier can overcome a lot of other variables.

Also you don't get in line, 45 min before the show you'll enter the arena and grab a seat.
