Personally, I'm not sold on this film. Felicity Jones seems flat to me so far. I'm also not a big War film fan. We all know the ending, so how do they keep us in suspense?

Looks pretty good to me. The sets and ships look right out of the OT, which makes sense considering the time frame. What was TFA's excuse?

Yeah...maybe...but I meant from teh filmmaking perspective. I get that TFA wanted to return to its roots, but it kinda did so at the expense of anything new. I mean, it's all X-Wings, TIEs, and a big, round super weapon. I like the movie, I do, but I'd have liked to see at least a few truly new designs. Even if half the Resistance fleet had slightly upgraded Y-Wings (like their slightly upgraded X-Wings), that would have been a start.

I kinda agree...

They were so desperate to not do a Lucas style eye candy film...that they forgot that what made star wars a smash was that it introduced awesome new ships/characters/story elements in each film.
