Apparently, I jumped the gun and thought it was sent to ROFR on Dec 23, but I got notification today that it actually went out today, Dec. 27 so I edited my post to reflect that.

I failed to update in a timely manner!

We PASSED ROFR on 27 November and closed on December 18! We got our welcome home email from Disney on 24 DEC (Merry Christmas to us!) and points were loaded by 26 DEC!

We had an extremely smooth buying process that went pretty much by the book.... Maybe even faster than some other experiences I've heard about!

Just sharing for others:
The broker for the sale was Fidelity.
We chose DVC Title and Escrow and worked with Cammy.
We were able to charge our entire escrow deposit with DVC title (NO FEES woohoo!!) (there are fees to charge the balance for closing, just none for the escrow deposit).

Woohoo!!!

That’s a really quick turnaround from closing to points loading given the weekends and holidays.

No surprise, but:

Ginamarie---$86-$14696-160-OKW(E)-Feb-0/23, 0/24, 166/25, 160/26- International Seller- sent 11/26, passed 12/27

I will not say those famous last words about this being my last contract, but I may need a break after this one! My mom says it's time I left someone else buy points for a change.

So my OKW deal of the decade at $32.60pp just got even sweeter. We closed 12/18. This is our fourth contract. I just logged into our account and not only was the contract loaded in 9 days, but points were also there. But so were Sept 2024 points. We were told 2024 points were used. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!!!

Some really are the chosen ones 🤩 Congrats and merry and happy everything!

Let's get this straight: a partially stripped contract became a nearly loaded one for $32.60 pp.

Rent out 2024 points for $16pp at David's and your effective deal is $16.60 per point! Deal of the CENTURY!

Slightly off topic, but for those of us who've added a contract in the past year, a friendly reminder about annual dues. If you're enrolled in Auto-Pay for dues, that doesn't automatically get applied to new contracts. I just logged into DVC and setup auto-pay for the contract I closed on earlier this year.

Thank you for posting this. I did buy a resale this year and did not realize I needed to setup auto pay since my original contract was already set up. Thanks so much!

That might just mean your assumptions about how Disney uses ROFR are incorrect. This is still probably in the ballpark of what it costs them to build new. If they don't have a buyer on the hook, there is no reason to accumulate the inventory given all that they have to sell.

I also am hearing rumblings that suggest to me that timeshare sales, in general, are slowing. Other resort systems are pulling back on their buyback/take back programs. Wyndham used to take more or less anything that didn't have a looming special assessment or some other albatross, but in the last 3-6 months they've gotten quite picky.

I get it from your side, but it just seems nonsensical that Disney wouldn’t….
When I saw it, the fact that it was from some broker (and perhaps title company as well) that doesn't really interact with Disney, I wonder if DVC decided it wouldn't be worth the headache having to educate them on the process, etc.

I look forward to everyone sharing with their brokers at DVCResaleMarket.com that $32/pp Loaded OKW contract is their basis of comparison for all deals moving forward at that resort... I may even make an offer on some VB contracts for $12/pp based on that logic...
