No interest in VGC resale?
Anaheim Hilton was my goto as well, for the price its hard to beat!
Nah I can wait it out for direct. A price difference of 70-100 a point is fine for me. We love it too. Already have 4 nights booked at the Hilton in Jan/Feb for the half marathon. Wish I could justify hitting up Aulani while I was there but that may be pushing my wife’s buttons a bit too much if I went without her lol

So this is kind of embarrassing. I've been sitting around waiting for a Subsidized Aulani December UY and... is it possible that those don't even exist?
And after snagging my 150 subsidized points, you now have one less buyer to negotiate against because I just refuse to own more points in Hawaii then I do at Copper Creek so I don’t even stalk them anymore haha

Thanks! I have some existing BLT points but I’m trying to build up some more (I hope I like the refurb or I’m gonna be in big trouble). My heart also wants Ft. Wilderness Cabin points, and I’m trying to rationalize it, but the rationalizations I’ve come up with so far aren’t very rational :(
We understand; irrational rationalizations are what fuels our add-on-itis🤣!

The board sponsor estimates between $78-$97pp…. yes for subsidized….
There is no way. I mean I went and saw the estimates were as you noted…but unfortunately…only in our dreams 😂!

Don’t be embarassed…
Usually with December use year it'd be a fixed week. (I believe maybe @emchen snagged one last year that was 450-500 points?)
I did!…and it was (a fixed week)!…but “at what cost?” 😱

Search my handle at dvcrofr.com and you will see that on first look it was $12 pp more than @AwfulWaffle ‘s, but the final $/point are pretty much the same.

Also there’s a thread
(Post in thread 'Help Aulani Subsidized owners'

where @DanCali among other luminary Aulani(S) aficionados debate the true value of said contracts.

I paid around $120pp for a 100pt AUL-S with full 2024 points earlier this year.

So a significantly larger contract that is stripped of 24/25 and sometimes 26 points….
I wouldn’t pay more than the board sponsors estimates.

My “3-UY brother” from another mother, that was a great deal no doubt! I am somewhat relieved that it was a March use year so the ache of FOMO is not nearly as great 😊!

I probably could have gotten better deals for all my AULs contracts, but that's one I'm least worried about...

I believe the value of the subsidy is grossly underestimated by the market. I have post (here) showing that the value of the subsidy (i.e., value of subsidized vs identical unsubsidized contract) can easily be $60 per point if you hold it to expiration, under conservative assumptions. That analysis, which requires just two parameters - dues growth and opportunity cost, also has sensitivity analysis in case you disagree with one or both parameters needed.

(P.S. it may not be as valuable if you sell it before expiration and the market continues undervaluing the subsidy and underpays you when you sell, so you obviously want to shoot for the best deal you can get. But there's a difference between that and "overpaying")
