Im so disappointed. I got an email saying Disney waived ROFR and then 10 mins later got an email saying Disney took it. I called the person that sent the email and they didn’t answer. So I had to wait for a reply via email. And the reply was just “oops hit the wrong button, Disney took it.”

I was at first too. But I just have to remember that everybody makes mistakes. Still sucks though. Now I gotta start my AKL search again

Odd thing. I got an unexpected call from my DVC Guide today after my contract was taken on Friday. I assume it was no coincidence.

Did the last AKV promotion sell really well? I'm shocked to see them taking a lot of AKV, even into the $100 price point. I would assume that based on the OKW promotion, maybe DVC feels confident that they can move AKV around $130-150?

I would have expected them to be taking BLT below $130 instead... since it seems way more likely to be a substitute for price conscious PVB buyers.

Annoyed… absolutely!

However, I remind myself that many of the people working back office jobs are working long hours in roles that have them doing a significant amount of multitasking and so therefore mistakes will happen.

It’s good that they corrected the mistake relatively quickly.

There’s not a single person here that hasn’t committed mistakes at their jobs. That one isn’t even outrageous and was corrected promptly.

AKV is many people’s favorite resort. “Nothing else like it in the world”.

So, Disney must know their market.

I expect BLT will be in the cross hairs post refurb, but who knows.

Goodness gracious, that would ignite two extreme of emotions within 10 minutes. Going from completely ecstatic to completely devastated in 10 short minutes! My heart aches for your roller coaster ride. Grateful you eventually gave grace to the poor person who “hit the wrong button” without the decency of a phone call to apologize. Good for you once you sorted out the emotions.

Adding to the AKV discussion - I began my DVC purchase journey when I was on the Wish the beginning of August. I met with the DVC office onboard. They were offering AKV direct with good incentives and could pick my use year. I ended up buying resale because the savings was too good to pass up but I was nervous about ROFR with my contract. I think with the popularity of this resort and the refurb they are going to keep buying up resale contracts.

For the record, I myself love AKV— we visit Sanaa every trip and if we could take longer WDW vacations I’d probably stay there over VGF and Poly— I would always stay there over BLT unless I was attending an after hours or NYE event at MK… I’m just surprised they are aggressively ROFRing AKV and not touching BLT at all.

interesting... I wonder if we'll ever know what Disney is looking at when they ROFR but it's definitely not just price/number of points.....

They use a crystal ball to see who's spirit will be crushed the most if they ROFR the contract.
