I am 99% certain that Use Year plays a part. I understand that Disney can change Use Year. However, I think they may try to keep percentages of Use Year intact - leading to them taking some UY’s more than others. Of course, my perspective is CC with an April Ulysses specifically- but I am almost fully convinced this is the case.

Is it not more likely to be unit than use year?

My ideal use year is April but I’ve ended up bidding mostly on February. Nearly 15% of SSR contacts have a Feb use year but only 6% April. I figure I’m giving myself better odds of finding add on contracts in the future with Feb.

DVC can already alter the use year if they want to and they haven’t balanced them out so I’m guessing that’s not their intention. I’m unsure why it’s in their interest to keep them as they are though.

I think it’s more likely that they are buying back certain units so they have a big pool that they can sell from at whatever number points are requested whether that be 50 or 500.

ETA: what I’m trying to say is it may feel like they’re targeting your use year but maybe it’s because, as you say, there’s so few of them that even if ROFR was totally random fewer would pass anyway.

e.g if there were 10 CCV going through ROFR and one had April UY and five were Feb. It’s quite likely the April would be taken. It’s also likely some Feb would be taken but if the buy back rate is say 50% it’s less likely ALL the Feb would be taken and this is why it may seem more weighted to one UY.

I really think they just want it to be random and confusing to some extent. Dart at a board is a good theory!!

Also as it’s been discussed before, keeping in mind total cost. For animal kingdom the $150 per point with MF and closing costs covered is a better deal overall than the $142 or $145 per point that passed where buyer covered those. Of course that doesn’t explain the $133 that snuck through so definitely still some randomness!

That was my plan too if we had been taken. I know a couple weeks ago there seemed to be quite a few that had been on the market a while and were down to 150s…so prob can get a good deal with no chance of being taken!
