Long time lurker, first time caller lol hi folks! First post, first contract, eeeeee!! Only ever rented points before this. Watching my email like a hawk, we’re trying to book a summer 2025 trip with our (gasp, our very own) points.

*Edited to add: In my excitement and mobile registration I spelled my username wrong hahahah literally just noticed now. Certified bozo.
Congrats!

I had to read it 5 times to see where you went wrong.

I was waiting to see who got that one. I was 👌🏼 close to pulling the trigger lol
Too funny! It's a smaller world than we think. The offer was accepted fairly quickly so that always makes you wonder, could I have had it for less? :ssst: I'll never know. I believe it was listed at $150pp. Either way, I'm very happy for the small contract and banked '23 points. Woohoo!

Hah I offered very low on this and they countered with a hard $135 so that must have been their limit! Well done, it’s a great buy!

i offered on it too. i got a firm counter of $138!
This is getting interesting. We need a new thread similar to the declined offers thread. lol (maybe different brokers, etc)

I was going to lowball it expecting to be rejected lol

It was a great contract that deserved a full price offer to be honest.

Thank you both for lowering expectations so that they took my offer of $135 :worship:

Honestly, I thought about lowballing, but it ticked all of my boxes, so decided to make the offer and not go any lower. I guess it was partly luck that it was accepted, as they were countering at $138.

Today in DVC resale land, we have what has to be the most poorly-managed contract I've ever seen.

Seriously it's absolute malpractice the way some of these sellers botch their banking deadlines and demand full value for points that will be *literally impossible* for the buyer to use.
I am hunting www.dvcforless.com to figure out which one you are talking about - nothing is really jumping out. I see an Aulani that is priced reasonably well with unbankable (probably unusable) points. I have noticed a few times the website does not pick up the correct point allocations.

I always wonder if these are the owners who bought, not really understanding what they were buying and the just continued to float along with their ownership. People here are really knowledgeable but some of the questions I see on Facebook or Reddit from owners suggest a fundamental lack of understanding.

Yeah, that one is a head-scratcher. I have to say I like the contracts that look like the seller has no clue. Because if they can not manage their points they probably dont know the value of their contract. This seller looks like they just gave up.
I got a great deal on a BCV contract last fall that was all wonky.

$12,000 of rental value or ~$24,000 of rack rate just lost into the ether.

I’ve seen a few of those.

Trying to look too, guessing must be Feb or March use year with 2024 points?
Dec use year would have plenty of time to use points or bank.

I do wonder if some older people may have high point contracts that just or unable to use or kids/grandkids are using. And don’t know about rental options
