A bit unrelated to the topic at hand, but I was wondering if someone knows how long Disney is taking these days to credit the points on a resale contract to someone who is already a member.
My deed was finalized February 24th... will have expiring points by August; just wondering if there is a place to give them a bit of pressure to expedite it a little.

The Closing Thread will help you with looking at how long from deed recorded until account created/points loaded. I think someone just said its been about 2ish weeks for the contract to show up and another 1-2 weeks for points to load. Have you seen the contract/account populate yet?

Novatrix---$105-$17599-160-BCV-Aug-0/23, 0/24, 9/25, 160/26-Seller pays MF '25- sent 3/14

I'm a mixture of excited and surprised. First time ever offering on a resale contract.

If I'm 100% honest, it's a bit more points than I need (I already have 330 OKW exp. '57), but while I still love OKW's larger rooms, I'll be happy to be able to book studios when I'm traveling solo for rundisney weekends/quick long weekend trips.

Thanks! I can walk and chew gum at the same time, but I really grew to dislike having that second UY. Good for some, just not for me.

Chose lower cost SSR points over “where I want to stay” for SAPs when I made this purchase. Lesson learned. BLT checks more boxes for my family, at least in the short term.
Same here - just ditched my small resale contract SSR for a slightly larger resale contract at AKV (we love to staycation there for part of most of our trips). Just waiting for the AKL points to load... (we have Riv direct for our main contract and LOVE THAT SO MUCH)

No, not yet :( But if I had $5 for every time I have checked so far today, I could have a nice downpayment for another DVC contract :rotfl2:
Thanks for reminding me to check! I closed on the 10th too for a smaller AKV contract and I forgot to look! I just looked and mine was posted on the 12th - I had no idea it would be that fast! Now to wait for the loading of the points....one last wait...

Just some wisdom I've learned from this experience which I'm sure everyone here already knows, but in case anyone is new here, reconsider if there's more than one seller on the contract and international if you're wanting this process to move along.

It's been like pulling teeth for us with three sellers, two of them have now finally turned in their closing docs 3 weeks later, but one of them hasn't, we just assumed they would all send them over together 😭 Too much can go wrong and the more hands in the cookie jar the more issues (ie one could be sour and not want to sell, etc.)

I've given up on closing this week and the saga continues next week. I am making bets that my akv contract that i signed a month later will close first if ROFR passes 🤣🤣
Yeah - back in 2020 we had an international one (UK) never even get to ROFR - the guy had some kind of accident and 3 months later we still couldn't get the finished papers so we gave up (the timeshare people gave up too so we didn't lose our deposit or anything).

Just wondering if you had any success with having your contract added to your membership because I am also in the same boat with expiring August points!

Looks like we’re starting to see more SSR loaded in an attractive valuation range again. I’m not look to buy any more points at WDW, but at $85 with a free year’s points, I’m almost tempted.
Yeah I was on the fence thinking of picking up a smaller CCV or BLT contract, but then saw a few of these loaded SSR contracts and thought it was much better value for our first DVC purchase given our flexibility and preference for 1bedrooms

I think SSR is the overall best value for a DVC purchase if you have some flexibility. You did good.
