ROFR Thread January to March 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Nice buy! If you want your string counted, be sure to use the string formatting tool linked in the first post so that your string posts properly. https://rofr.scubacat.net
Agreed! Also be sure to include any closing costs and dues in the total. If the seller covered all closing costs, 2024, and 2025 dues, that's a killer deal!

Not sure if you are still within your 10 day cancel period or if you ran the numbers on total cost/cost per year for this. Spending more per point at another resort will cost you significantly less money.

Thanks, but we're good. We bought VGC resale last year and actually have a plan for how these will be spent for the duration of the contract.

So, does that mean that you know the points are the most expensive to own over the remaining 17 years of the contract and are OK with it because you want to buy as many as you can with the lowest upfront out of pocket?

Not judging, just curious.

VBR and HHI don't seem like good purchases, but if you want to stay at those resorts, it's sometimes the way to go. I bought a ton of HHI points in the last year, but we love HHI and I'm only planning to use those points for that specific resort. Yes, the dues are expensive. No, I don't care. I'll be at HHI two weeks this summer and had no issues getting my reservation- worth every penny.

Makes sense, but the PP said that they were extremely flexible with last minute travel which tends to mean SAP and not as much home resort priority.

Makes sense for HHI if you need home resort priority. As for VB the cash rates this past summer weren’t far off from owning unless you want the beach houses. No guarantee those discounted cash rates return next summer I guess. But the value of owning VB is rapidly diminishing unless you want the Beach House.

Debating whether to post a contract that passed ROFR back in June.. not sure the data would be useful at this point

The other issue with VB is, unlike Aulani, there's no guarantee the cash rooms will be there to book... But, VB points are rather steep, even at $40pp.... and are usually available at 7 months with the exception of the cottages.
