They do BUT with the booking screen, if you have Kidani, Jambo does not automatically check as it is listed in the area for resorts that aren’t your own. If you are trying to get those value studios and running late, it’s a small extra step to drop down the menu and check Jambo.

If you want to get Jambo to show up on your primary contract section, you can buy a tiny 25 point contract direct at Jambo and then it will always be there.

But wait until your points load and then decide! It isn’t a huge issue.

They trying to hide the truth because they know Jambo is better 😭😭😭 Jk lolll but really I was going crazy trying to find the info then I came along this gem https://**********/unit/?resort=AKV&unit=118A&percent=0.3069&points=50

It shows the other resorts too and the plans and stuff if anyone is curious!

I stayed ar Kidani recently and really liked it. Jambo is more convenient though with food options. I would seek the Jambo contracts over Kidani just for that little quirk and because Jambo availability is lower, but it ultimately isn’t a big deal. You can book either at 11 months.

Except, since you can bring up fhst screen to choose, it literally takes an extra second to choose Kidani…which you can do before the window opens.

So, I’m not sure that it matters, other to to know to be sure to check both.

Like I said…it’s not a huge issue and you can still book either. If I held onto my AKV contracts or bought more I would have considered doing this or seeking out a Jambo contract resale anyway though, just to have things be even easier.

I still wonder why Poly is just one box to check with the addition of the new tower, while AKV is two.

We stayed at both too and we liked both as well too, but we actually only stayed at kidani one night so we didn't get to experience much except sanaa for breakfast and we both loved that!

We did Sanaa for dinner. Honestly…good, but I would try the other options at Jambo instead next time. Anyway, I’m clogging up the ROFR thread; will stop now!

I just wanted to be sure it was clear because didn’t want potential buyers reading it and thinking they had to be deeded to one or the other based on where they want to stay.

If I had to guess, they just added the tower rooms as new units as just phases and they way they are deeded don’t distinguish so it is all the same.

For whatever reason, they did it different with AKV, and now can’t change it.
 
Bear in mind, the philosophy of DVC and American vacation preferences have changed A LOT since the original vacation club was built. Studios were an afterthought, the idea was people would want to book the larger rooms.

Also, there was a lot of uncertainty on how well the program would be received, as the US was coming out of a recession. My parents' guide when they bought in '92 told them that Disney "would consider the program a success if they got 10,000 members." They were probably trying anything to unload as many points as quickly as possible, and making it a 230 min initially may have been one tactic to accomplish it.
The whole business model was different... It wasn't until Boardwalk they found a formula that was one they could emulate - studio driven, prime real estate, something that offered an alternative to cash stays... Even then they shied away from the truly prime locations on the monorail until after 9/11 when it became clear the days of building Disney Deluxe resorts were over...
