ROFR Thread April to June 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Just signed purchase contract and paid deposit on our first ever contract. 2 stages of anxiety to go:

1. Seller is yet to sign.
2. Price is very, very cheap so almost certain we're going to get ROFR'd.

How do you guys deal with the stress of this 🤣
My first go round was all stress and anxiety lol. I signed the deal on a Friday and the seller didn't sign until the Monday. All weekend I was worried that they were backing out 😂. Then waiting for ROFR was excruciating! When it finally passed, the sellers took almost 3 weeks to get their closing documents completed. Eventually it all got done and a 3 months later we were staying at our first deluxe resort and forgot all about the stress. 2 more resale cycles later the problem isn't waiting for ROFR or sellers. It's trying to keep myself from buying more points 😅. Add-on-itis is real and it'll get you!

Enjoy this process! You only get to buy into DVC once lol

Haha thanks! Will be a long wait but at least we're now "in the game" so it's all good and exciting.

I'm already looking at additional points and my wife thinks I'm insane 🙈

It is awful but I wish I could do it again and again 🤣🤣

It is 1000% a West Coast product. There are a ton of affordable flights that go direct to Hawaii from all of the major cities and it’s actually the same distance to Orlando as it is to Honolulu for most of us.

It’s just like Hilton Head and Vero are mostly east coast products.
Sorry, must be my lack of understanding being from uk
It just feels like you are saying an alternative to buying in at DL Paris is a Greek Island, i know AUL is DVC but sounds bizarre to me
If you are a Disney Theme Park fanatic the drop down from VDH seems to be a WDW resort or VGC resale of course
Clearly my cultural ignorance 😵‍💫

First contract, so very excited!
Did they bank those 2024 points or are you losing those? You will love using this contract, no matter!😍
Yeah they banked them so they're essentially free points. Feeling pretty good as it's a great deal!

So this would be correct?

I would say that one does not have to be a Disney theme park fanatic to own Aulani.

They may just be someone who likes to go to DLand (or WDW), but will never plan outside of 7 months and would perfectly happy to go to Hawaii at least once every 3 years.
