So, we can’t discuss negative experiences with bad brokers or bad title companies that are NOT on the approved list of names to mention? Even privately in PMs? I’m not sure if the moderator’s warning was intended for me, but I did tell someone they could PM me for details of a really awful experience because I didn’t want to make a negative public post. I definitely don’t want to break the rules. I love it here!!

my understanding is that if a company is "filtered" you are not officially permitted to discuss them using this website/software positively, negatively, and/or neutrally.

I do not know how this company has decided which organizations they permit and do not permit discussion about, and I believe they do not share their reasons for this decision (nor are they under obligation to do so as it is their website).

You can try typing out that brokers website and see if it pops up filtered, if it does I guess we aren't allowed to talk about them at all.
Example https://www.fidelityrealestate.com/ is fine to talk about but https://*******.com/ is not.

Not quite. We can't use DISboards to discuss entities that are in the filtered list. It does not matter what you want to discuss about them---good or bad.

It was what prompted the reminder. You can share your experience for any and all brokers whose sites have not been added to the boards filter by the owners of this site, which includes via PM.

Test the link, and if it shows, good to go! If it’s ****, then you can’t discuss them.

Sometimes, people do think being general and just saying “broker” is okay, but it’s not.

As mods, we don’t know why owners have chosen to filter some sites and not others.

Now, there are some sites that we do overlook if names as used because we know they are allowed. However, that can change so my advice is always use the link!!

Oh, that's a GREAT contract!!! I've been contemplating BLT if I could get a super low price, so this is awesome! Congrats and fingers crossed!

I'm not sure I understand. Does that mean we aren't allowed to say, vaguely, lol -- "I had a terrible experience with a broker" without naming who it is? Like, if they aren't on the approved list, we can't even discuss what happened without naming them? And if they ARE on the approved list, can we not discuss that in PM? I'm not a big fan of putting people on blast publicly...

Also -- will the banned broker names switch to ****** in the typing phase, or does it convert after you hit "post"?

If the brokers website is filtered, you can’t discuss them at all, whether it’s good or bad.

My best advice is to post the link…if it’s filtered, then don’t post a comment about them.

Now, some posts, I admit are borderline and it can be case by case…which is why using a link ensures you can’t get in trouble.

Names won’t necessarily filter and that is how warnings can be issued, which is why links are always your best bet!

Hah! So I just tested that and I’m guessing it happens when you POST the reply? Not when you first TYPE the reply.
