Did it list that it was International or did you find out after you placed an offer?

It was listed as an international seller, but I didn't even know until I was already doing the deal. I sent off 3 offers at 3 different agencies before I went to bed. I woke up to a congratulations, my offer was accepted. When I looked at the listing on the website (to see which one was accepted), I noticed that it said it was an international seller and had a much lower chance of ROFR. We'll see!
But, I wasn't looking for an international seller and in fact, thought it would make it harder to close.

I know that VDH is studio heavy, but then again at most resorts 1BR are usually the last to fill up. Do the 1BRs book up before the studios at VDH unlike at most other resorts?

There are only 19 one-bedrooms at VDH and I think maybe half of them aren't declared yet. So I assume that means they go pretty quick, even at the 11-month mark. We always go to Disneyland for 6 nights so that might make it harder to get, as well.

I will send you his info! Literally months/over a year had passed since I chatted with him once in the DVC office next to VGC, and he actually kept track of my request for that long! Definitely earned our business!



I would highly, highly recommend staying at VDH before making a purchase there… We did the Member preview during opening weekend and knew immediately it wasn’t for us which was super disappointing since we initially thought we’d buy as we watched it being built (we’re local).

Fast forward to a couple weekends ago, and I grabbed a last minute cancellation so that we could sleep while the teens stayed out until park closing and not have them out driving on their own super late. I hated it so much more than I thought I would. Some of my hates are nitpicky, but others are weird physical reactions to the actual building. So weird but definitely a one and done stay for me. My youngest said it wasn’t as bad as she expected though, so you never know… YMMV but it’s strictly VGC for us!

Interesting. I'd love to hear the reasons you hated it so much. We won't be staying there because I think the cash prices are nuts. And we only have post-2019 resale so we can't use points there.

I hated it as well after my first stay (cash) I ended up buying 300 points there

Not @LilyJC but for us the #1 problem is location — if you aren’t exceptionally fit and/or have young kids, it’s an extra mile round trip every park day vs staying at the Grand Californian, which for us means less time/energy for rides. This problem is doubled if you are the kind of family that likes/needs to return back for naps. I also specifically find walking through DTD stressful and having the Pixar pier gate open actually makes it a lot better if you’re spending a lot of time at Pixar Pier.

I also didn’t love the tall elevator tower (with sometimes slow elevators) but really did love being able to do a walk up waitlist at Trader Sam’s. I would always take VGC over VDH, but we are going back for a second short stay this summer for a resort day on Day 1 and then doing the parks on checkout day 2—and I’m actually excited for a staycation resort day at the monorail pool and tiki bar.

You were allergic to the building?

When inside the hallways especially I was feeling lightheaded/dizzy. It took me a bit to realize that it was mostly due to how low the ceilings are paired with the super bright lights lining the halls. Everything felt tight and not spacious/airy. The entrance to the Discovery Tower also made me feel trapped. Essentially I think it triggered some claustrophobia… It was bizarre - we’ve stayed in the majority of DVC resorts, and I’ve never had this type of issue. We’ve also had numerous stays in the other DLH buildings without problems

I would love to know if PIT is similar as we have a 1 bedroom theme park view booked in October. I definitely don’t want to spend those points if I’ll end up feeling gross the whole time.

For my nitpicky issues:
-After countless stays at VGC, we hated the walk over to that back building. My favorite is to watch the second WoC showing and then end up back in my VGC room in less than 5 minutes. It felt so loooooong getting back to VDH.
-It was mildly annoying that the elevators only had buttons on one side of the doors.
-Definitely missed having a balcony
-Materials in the room felt cheap and paper towel holder underneath the sink inside the cabinet was also annoying
-And I knew it was coming but the TOT aggravated me

I will say I really appreciate the artistic elements they incorporated, but they aren’t enough to get me to stay there again. To each their own for sure, but again, I’d recommend staying before buying…

I won’t say I’m exceptionally fit , but I’m in pretty good shape and I still hated it. Mostly just spoiled rotten from VGC (and a couple of our WDW home resorts - BCV and BLT)!

Our youngest is almost 17 and usually brings at least one friend along. They typically have free rein and stay out until closing. At VGC I don’t stress about their safety, but I was not able to settle at all until they got back to VDH.
