I think whatever decision is made will show us a great deal. Obviously my previous $125 that got taken indicates a floor north of that as of April 1. $140s-150s appear to be acceptable. But I am now at $135. So I just don't know.

Would a baron be above or below a tycoon? For me personally, being a tycoon means you can blow 200 points a night on a bungalow (or grand villa) for a few days without making too many sacrifices on the rest of your DVC trips… so maybe not a fixed number, but probably 1000-2000 points depending on how often the owner likes to travel…anybody over 2000 points is a tycoon in my book, but for me personally being a tycoon is always about 600 points more than I presently have.

I think there's less dues risk at SSR, plus should be cheaper outlay.
With my AK contract I bought last year I've booked studios at Poly, BC, BW, and GF...yes split stays but we prefer those. I also managed to get a waitlist filled for a Value room but would never have gotten that without the home resort advantage as I put that request in early. So that one value has already gotten me one step closer to SSR pricing. AKV is an underrated SAP+.
AKV is isolated. At least with SSR you can always go to Disney Springs, which we do every trip anyway.
That was the reason we chose SSR. When looking at a week long resort stay, even though it has great food, it is a bit of a food desert if there all week. With SSR you have all the food options of Disney Springs and when the kids are bored they can change it up and go walk Disney Springs. To do anything else at AKL requires travel which changes the equation in my opinion when giving my kids some freedom.
