DVC Title & Escrow allows $7500 on CC (no fee), are they the ones that you made a deal on the remaining ~$16K ? I believe TRCS is $1.5K, I dont see them making any deals on remaining, I do believe it's okay to share the closing company name as I may want to try to make a deal as well. Disboards will filter out the name if they are on the * list! :)
They must have recently changed their business model as we closed this week with DVC T&E and they were going to charge a 3% fee for using a CC.

It’s wild to me that any of them let you put more than ~$1000 on a credit card without a fee. THEY have to pay the fee!
I agree. I had read on here that they don't charge so was excited for the points but once I was told of the 3% fee, I backed out and paid direct.

Cammy used to let you put up to $8k on a credit card….
Here is the email I received:

The amount allowed on a credit card is $6,500, there is a 3% fee. Here is the link and please let me know when the payment is made XXXXXXX

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

I just did a $1500 deposit without any fee at Cammy's company. I didn't push for more down because I didn't have a new card to hit a certain amount, so not sure if that's the cutoff or not before a fee kicks in.

Last year they allowed us $5k in escrow without a fee. This year it was less, I requested $5k, and they approved.

They told me anything after that they would pass on the fee. I appreciate this as it at least gives me the option of earning a sub bonus which would easily pay for the fee on this instance.

Charging a CC transaction fee is against merchant TOS with Visa and Mastercard. They do not allow this and it could get their merchant account revoked. I'm surprised they do this.

That certainly used to be true - but given how common it has become in the last few years, that seems to no longer be the case.

For my business we outsource the cc processing to a third party. They charge our clients 3.5% on a credit/debit transaction or a flat $3.50 if using an electronic check.

The credit card companies lost a class action lawsuit on that and the rules have been loosened greatly; a bunch of changes to state laws have also enabled more fee passing.

thank you for adding this- I've been wondering what set that off, and it's something I always think about while not at a computer so haven't gotten around to digging into it.
