I've been reading on other boards (including here on the RESALE POLICY CHANGE THREAD) that Disney is clarifying the whole extra benefits thing from yesterday, and they're now saying that a contract needs to have *closed* by yesterday, not just have been submitted for ROFR. Has anyone else heard that?

I saw this too. Thought it was settled, but now not so much.

Our broker has confirmed: The deed has to have been recjorded by yesterday to have those extra benefits. Ours passed ROFR yesterday, so we will not get them. (It's our first contract.)

Now that changes a lot. What does your contract say with regards to buyer expectations (member benefits)? What a time to be in buyer's limbo!

Just spoke with my broker it is true

My broker just called to let me know that my contract that was sent to ROFR 3/31 is now not covered either. They are now saying they have to be RECORDED by OC before 4/4. I feel terrible for people stuck in estoppel or have closed but not recorded yet. They're stuck. I'm so glad my original contract will keep me covered.

Grr... Honestly, we would still be buying even with these changes, but when we signed a contract in early March we had certain expectations of the current benefits that we were getting. Just disappointing

Ditto, just was contacted by my broker, we were sent to ROFR on 3/24 & will not be considered for member benefits. Contracts must have CLOSED in full by 4/4. I am currently a DVC member so it really doesn't affect me, but what a shocker for those of you buying your 1st contract. I'd be livid. I know I know, people are pointing out that the benefits aren't that big of a deal, but I use almost all of them - AP ticket discount, dining discounts, tour & show discounts just to name a few.

Sooooo....I'm curious if the new announcement will have any effect on how many contracts pass ROFR in the next few weeks....

Just took the wind out of my sails how Disney can just strip you of your expectations when entering the contract. I can see if I purchased with the knowledge, but to be in contract and to switch it up like this?

This really t's me off. I have 2 contracts that were sent for ROFR on March 24.... If I had known I would have no member benefits... I would never have signed these contracts. I now hope they will not pass ROFR.

i hear you. my broker confirmed we should be good to go yesterday....i just emailed him and let him know what i've been hearing/reading and to get his thoughts...which i'm sure will be what everyone is saying today. how sad....

kinda makes the wait even longer? i'm only day 8 into the rofr process....sigh.....

Happy for you! Good to see a happy dance again on this thread. My DD just said, Mommy, does it matter? We'll be in Disney. I replied, "What if you can't buy all those DVC pins for your collection?". "Well, that would stink, but we'll still be in Disney!" I need to be a kid again... Totally oblivious.
