ROFR?? Thoughts on my chances?

I am waiting for ROFR on a resale at OKW. It is for a 280 points with 2002 and 2003 banked, but I have to use the 2002 before December. Do you think that DVC is going to want these or no because it is a larger contract. Please give me info. I am worried that they are not going to let this through and if not because we live in Ca. we cannot buy directly from them right now. Thanks.

The size of the contract is not as important as how much you paid for it. If say, the price per point was $50 Disney would almost definitely buy it back. If it's $70/point or more they almost definitely would NOT buy it back. But I have read of successful resale purchases of $68/point and sometimes even a little lower.

We haven't read of any ROFR being exercised lately, so I don't think you have to worry unless your price per point was exceptionally low. GOOD LUCK!!

Not true! There were at least 3 people who posted yesterday that Disney had exercised ROFR on their contracts. As of yesterday, Disney also raised their prices for sold-out resorts to $89.

I have talked to DVC twice in the last week about any locations that they have other than SSR because we can't buy there. Both times they have indicated that they do not have anything at WDW. If they are buying back then why wouldn't they let me know?

Chances are the guides are snatching them up as addons for their current clients.

I guess I missed those posts, but they are the first I have heard about in a long time. In fact there have been many posts asking about ROFR since I got my contract in June, and we have not seen anyone turned down. Obviously if you saw posts yesterday that said otherwise I believe you. I am curious--What were the costs per point?

In any case I paid $71/point for my BWV resale and had no problem with ROFR. So since that's what Traveling Jen paid I imagine her contract will go through, especially since it's OKW, one of the less coveted DVC resorts. I truly don't think Traveling Jen has anything to worry about, but if others disagree please don't hesitate to say so.

Marilyn, sorry if I came across snippy -- I'm at work and shouldn't be doing this at all right now(!!). If you go through yesterday and today's posts and look for anything with ROFR in the subject, you'll find them. Believe there was an OKW at $68, BWV at $73 , and one more. There may have been issues with these passing in terms of the seller paying closing and/or maintenance fees. However, it seems likely that Disney's price increase will be reflected in what the resellers will have to charge as well!!

We were ROFR'd yesterday by Disney at BWV @ 73.25 per point on a 150 point contract so yes it is happening.

Did they give you a reason? The price per point seems in line (or even slightly higher) than many contracts I have read about on these boards, mine included (250 BWV points @71/point, purchased in June of this year).

Were there any other issues with this resale?
