ROFR fee

It is a fee that Disney charges to process their Right OF First Refusal. It applies to all resale contracts.

:earsboy: Bill

:confused3 They charge you a fee to tell you if you will get to make your purchase or if they will take it out from under you???? Wow talk about having your cake and eating it too.. I just did a resale purchase i don't remember being told about this....

It would be itemized in the closing costs, which is usually paid by the seller.

If Disney did not charge for the administrative work to process ROFR's, those costs would have to be absorbed somewhere else, it is much more appropriate for each transaction to be billed directly, than to have the costs billed against all members.

ROFR costs would not be paid by members. ROFR is a cost of sales item that is paid for by the Developer (DVD, not DVC).

Members did not pay for the ROFR process even when it was free.

Hmmmm, I think I better buy a lottery ticket. Somehow, I knew what TisBit was going to post before she even posted it!!! :rotfl2:

What is the ROFR fee and what resorts does it apply to?

also, it sounds like aulani contracts are unique in that they will get charged a flat $250 for ROFR fees when you go to resell - so i'd be careful and think twice before buying 25-50 pt aulani contracts.
