RoFR back??

We received notification of these decisions late yesterday. The contracts were submitted for ROFR between 7/18-7/28.
I understand that news and reporting is highly critical in today's media environment, but I hope I've earned myself a bit of credibility the past few years. I'm not going to hang my entire DVC reputation on three fake ROFRs.

I just hope you're right about Poly2!

I really think what we are going to see is more aggressive pricing as we move along. I just don't know if seeing three contracts taken is enough to say they want to raise resale prices....its just never been part of the strategy...we shall see!
Aggressive pricing as in more discounts or higher prices? Because I think the incentives have been good between the outright discounts and the magical beginnings. IMO, it has been a form of corrective to pricing that was rising too quickly. So I would hope to see this level of incentives continue (or even improve in benefit of buyers).

Yes...I did add that comment to my post....maybe they are reading here that many thought it would never come back...

But, I still want to see more than three to say there wasn't something unique about these specific contracts that made them take them because TBH, they really were not that low...
I'm sorry, I don't want you to think I'm attacking you. I'm not.

I know you conceded those points in prior post and I know you started this thread admitting you may have been wrong.

I also don't want to suggest that Disney is going to grab every contract below a price point.....

But If Disney buys back a contract (or three) that
wasn't something unique about these specific contracts that made them take them because TBH, they really were not that low...
It send a pretty powerful message to the buyers that they need to make more "Disney priced" offers or the mouse might just crack the whip....

Clearly it did that we are on post 113 in in 4:30 minutes

Disney got people talking....
Disney got in to peoples head.....
What ever they paid for those three contracts, Disney got great value for it.....

I don't think they are going to buy ever contract, just enough to make sure the resale prices trend higher.....

Or maybe the other poster was correct, and someone clicked the wrong box and Disney never wanted those contracts..... That would be par for the course too

Let's see if these are a one off, or if the process kicks back into gear. I am still surprised at them taking a VGF deeded to the original building because they are not, and will not sell someone those while they still have points deeded to BPK to sell.

I have no idea why they bought them...it may have something to do with the unit they are tied to??.

I was definitely wrong that ROFR would not come back...I said that in post #1. But, if you look at current sales, they have points to sell at AKV and I know they are not selling deeds to VGF1...which Paul confirmed is where this deed came from.

If they just exercised these, it will be at least a few months for them to be available for new buyers. So, I do not believe these specific contracts were bought because they have a buyer waiting for the points.

But, to see if I was wrong on that count, I reached out to my guide just to ask if there was a waiting list for AKV and he said no...plenty of points in stock if I want to add on today at that resort. I don't but anyone who wants direct points at AKV can call today and get them...

Now, it could be just to quell the conversations that it is not in play? They have always said they want people guessing so maybe all this talk on the DIS about it never coming back sparked them to take them. These contracts are stripped, so they would not even help a buyer waiting for them as there are no points until 2024...
I can get onboard with the unit assumptions here. This has always been a minor driver in certain buyback scenarios.
