Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any insight on my chances in ROFR, which I am anxiously waiting to hear about. I signed a 160 point Feb. UY contract for AKV at $127 per point on Oct. 6. It's a stripped contract. 0/21; 0/22; 160/23. I know Disney has taken AKV contracts as high as $138, but various circumstances can influence that, right? I've heard they tend to like loaded contracts, large contracts, and sometimes things we are not aware of, like the physical unit the points are pegged to. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

It's all just pure speculation on exact reasons ROFR happens.
We have a lot of data but no definitive reason, last couple of years it seemed more likely a stripped contract would be taken.
I would say that as AKV is cheapest direct WDW resort (after incentives) it will be more likely to be taken atm.
During 2018 and 2019 contracts passed 70% of the time. 2020 was 97% then has fallen back down in 2021 to 70%
Saying that, prices are historically very high, average passed contract was $110 at start of the year. Gone up 10% since then.
The saving resale to direct is 30% at AKV which is still a lot but that has got squeezed this year.

Good luck and if it gets taken just offer again as low as you can and keep fingers crossed.

Yes, I thought I was being strategic by bidding on a stripped contract thinking that Disney wouldn’t want a contract they couldn’t use for 16 months, but I’ve since heard that it can be about their need for minimum ownership. I’ll wait and see, and I won’t take it personally if it doesn’t work out for me. Thanks!

Maybe they like your building, maybe they really need the points. Who knows. Lots of ROFR lately. Plenty more contracts where that one came from.

Everything crossed for you! We submitted for ROFR on the same day. Maybe Disney will feel overwhelmed with the paperwork and pass on both of us!

We had an almost loaded (over half of 2020 pts and all of 2021 + 2022) Feb UY AKV 170pt contract pass last month at 125 per pt so let that be some hope for you.

Thanks! The waiting is crazy. Did it take the whole 30 days to let you know?

Congratulations! My contract is stripped, which I had thought would work in my favor, but maybe they pass on the loaded ones and take the stripped ones? You got a much better deal overall than me. I'm paying $127 per point and not getting anything till Feb. 2023. Enjoy!

Update: We we’re notified we passed ROFR at AKL in 3 weeks on the nose. Our 2nd contract, BRV, was taken and we heard about that in 10 days… a month too late it seems; figured they start buying back the month we try. So trying again; new one went to ROFR on 11/9…

How long ago was your AKV?

My friend just had her AKL mostly stripped contract pass after 3 weeks. This was her third... and last attempt in her words. Other two contracts were taken.
I'm so glad it went through for her.

Went to ROFR on 10/6 and got notice Disney passed on 10/27. We closed 11/8. Went pretty quickly; now we wait for membership info and points.
That gives me hope for my current attempt to buy into AKV. The first one was taken 10/29. Good for you!
