Hi,
I booked our room at the Rodeway Inn Maingate and have since discovered it is a bit over a mile away (not the .1 miles the site I was looking at at the time said). We will be two disables adults on scooters and one child. How bad is getting to the parks going to be? I've also noticed that this hotel does not seem to be very popular on here.

So, looking for opinions... How unhappy will I be with this hotel? Would I be better off trying the Super 8 on Katella?

I would really love to stay I site as it is a surprise birthday trip for DD, but there didn't seem to be any available and the price would probably be too high...
Thanks for any help and info!

You'll be quite far from the park entrances. From that area, people walk to the parking lot tram and ride to the DTD drop-off near the entrances. Because you'll be in scooters, you'll have quite a ways to go to get to DTD and then to the parks or the Monorail entrance.

Have you looked into the hotels on Harbor across from the entrances? The Harbor hotels are still closer than the ones on Katella. Carousel Inn, Tropicana Inn, Camelot Inn, Fairfield Inn etc. are on Harbor.

I was afraid of that. I did look at the Harbor Blvd hotels. Most say they are sold out. One said it had one room, but it was quite pricey.

Hard to say without knowing more details but from just looking at the map I think the Super 8 would be more convenient. Depending on the number of nights you are staying you might be able to get a deal at someplace like the Castle Inn using GetAwayToday. It might be a little more than the Rodeway but it would be closer. Good luck in whatever you end up doing!

Your hotel map made things so much easier!

I cancelled our reservations at Rodeway Inn and made a new reservation at the Castle Inn. The site said we got the last room. :) I think my DD :wizard: will get a huge kick out of the castle design of the building! She is going to be so surprised!

That is great to hear! Did you check GetAwayToday? The only reason I ask is Castle Inn is one of the hotels where they have free nights depending on how many nights you stay (i.e. book 3 nights get the 4th free). You might be able to save some $ if they still have rooms available (which they might even if it is all booked up through the hotel). Either way I am glad to hear you worked out a better arrangement for your trip! :cool1:

I was just on the Getaway Today site and they do have rooms at the Castle. Also, the 4th night is free. They have just recently refurbished their rooms.
