Rocky Mount NC

Hi,
We are driving from Southern NY and it seems that Rocky Mount is the half way point for us. Does anyone have any input as to the Rocky Point area? Is ther a better place to stay over an hour or two north or south of I-95?

I stayed in Rocky Mount last year when I drove to Florida, got off Rte 64 and found a Comfort Inn about a mile off of 95. There was an Outback in the parking lot of the hotel, spent about $89 for the night with a continental breakfast. I would stay there again if I was doing the drive!

Try Wilson, the next major area south. We stayed at a Microtel Inn at rt 264 and paid only $65 for the night. it was older but clean and offered breakfast (light). We hit the road at 9 am and we were at Sports by 8:30 that night. We made frequent stops and could have easily been there a few hours earlier if we hadn't.

HI! I live in NC, and if I had to stay right off I-95, I would stop in Smithfield--about 40 miles south of Rocky Mount. There is an outlet mall, along with quite a few hotels and restaurants. I think you'll have more choices than in RM, and its nicer IMO.

Above is the outlet mall's website. There is an accommodations page--just be sure that the hotel you choose says Smithfield--I see there are some listed that are in surrounding towns.
