Haven't ever seen the pictures of Snow White and Cinderella in their winter attire. So pretty. Thanks for posting them.
I love Akershus too, but share your shock of the sticker there. I found my receipt from 2009 and it was $34.99 per adult then.
I'm gonna guess you waited 3 hours to see the Frozen princesses. Maybe eventually they will be added to the Akershus lineup!

If anyone wants to follow me on Instagram, my handle is nurse_patty. I have lots of Disney pictures that are non-food related posted. 
Today is the perfect day to end our fantastic Disney vacation as it is an 80% chance of rain & also the MK monorails will be out of service from 1130am-7pm this Monday - Friday due to fiber optic wiring. Yikes!!
I have lots to share from this trip but will first finish up my January food eats.
And to answer the frozen question...we waited 3 hours (which i thought was crazy) but nothing compared to the 4 hour wait on Wednesday!! Shocking is that we were quoted a 5 hour wait at 930 am & still chose to stand in line.

after breakfast at akershus, we made a mad dash to meet anna & elsa.
i was told that it was going to be a 3 hour wait. say whaaaaaaaaaaat?!
i stood there a bit stunned & then i was shocked that i decided to wait in line. a 3 hour line. this was total insanity.
i really lucked out that we were standing in line with people that were also feeling my pain. the wait went by pretty quickly as we took turns waiting...i got a couple of beers, we had a potty break and emme took a nap.
hooray for beer!
but before the nap, emme was having a good time.
at about the 2.5 hour mark, a very nervous cast member started to tell us that we might only meet one princess...that one princess being anna. i have nothing against anna...i love her character in the movie, but when i stood in line, the sign said anna & elsa. my daughter was dressed up as elsa. almost everyone in line wanted to see elsa. but after 2.5 hours of waiting in line, we might only get to meet one princess.
i could fee myself becoming pretty angry. the dads in line were enraged. but the cast member pulled out the "characters are subject to change" clause and that was the end of that.
i was planning my next approach. what the heck would i tell my soon to be 4 year old that elsa was no longer there? they even removed her from the sign and anna's name was staring back at me.
the family behind us was the last of the 2:30 line. they had a paper that said 2:30 on it. as we were approaching the door, they let us know that we would be the last group to see both anna & elsa. THANK YOU JESUS! as i didn't want to be the mom having an epic meltdown at guest services.
after waiting 3 hours, i laughed when the photopass guy tried to rush me. i looked at him and said, "sir, i just waited 3 hours so my daughter could have this moment".
i then took about 5 minutes (five WHOLE minutes) shooting pictures while emme was having her moments with anna & elsa.
anna was AWESOME. elsa was totally not feeling it (to my dismay).

after the meet & greet, i felt this huge sense of accomplisment. then, i felt like a complete idiot for wasting 3 hours of my time for a 5 minute meet & greet. then after that, i quickly felt like a super hero as emme could not stop talking about meeting anna & elsa as she happily skipped along next to me. it was totally worth it....so much so, that we waited 4 hours last week.
i can't wait for this meet & greet to be moved to princess fairytale hall with the luxury of fast passes. there is a disney god somewhere.
on the positive, the plus of the line at epcot is that there is easy access to the important things: booze & food. it makes it tolerable...way tolerable.

so i stopped at guest services to fix my magic band problem (which they didn't fix but messed up some more), i decided to stop by the stroller rental place to see if they could put some air in my left tire. he let me know that the pump was in the back and that he would be right back.
when he rolled my jogging stroller back (it's a $499 jogging stroller), i could tell that the wheel was totally over inflated. i asked him to stop but he kept coming. as he walked, there was a loud BOOM! sound which had people ducking. this was the sound of my rim blowing off the tire.
he continues to walk towards me and a second BOOM! happens. this would be the sound of a hole in my tire.
evidence:
i couldn't believe my luck...i never get pixie dust while at disney. the manager comes out and offers me a plastic stroller. those things are terrible. i couldn't put emme in that plus we had 2 more days left on our trip.
he then offers me a very small umbrella stroller. he said, "it's a 59.95 stroller" to which i replied, "that's the inflated disney price for that umbrella stroller". but the umbrella stroller was my best bet as i had no other options as my jogging stroller was completely useless now.
after getting the stroller comped, i was then left dragging my jogging stroller, a whiney emme, gift bags and an umbrella stroller to my car in the epcot parking lot. i was so grumpy and unhappy and just needed a few minutes to regroup in my car.
afterwards, we had dinner at AOA. we ordered:
Butter Chicken
AOA is one of my favorite places to eat. i really love the butter chicken. it's not like the butter chicken at my favorite indian place in town but it is a tasty dinner....and so cheap especially with a TIW card.
my mood was uplifted and then we made our way to the contemporary as we had a pirate cruise to attend! ARGH!
up next, PIRATES & PAL FIREWORKS VOYAGE!!

Joining in. 3 our wait! You are wonderful! I was getting prepared to wait also before I knew they were moving to MK. I'm traveling alone with my son in September and besides the fab 5 he told me he really wants to meet elsa and anna. Looking forward to more!

Wow I can't believe that wait is so crazy long for Elsa and Anna! You are a better person than I am for waiting in that long line. Why would they suddenly take Elsa away? They have to know that would enrage people waiting in that line for hours. I'm glad Emme still got to meet her.

PIRATES & PALS FIREWORKS VOYAGE PART 1
after our dinner, we headed to the contemporary for the pirates & pals voyage. but first, i stopped at the outer rim to have a tasty beverage.
Skyy vodka dirty martini
my dirty martini was nice & stiff and cost $7.00. for disney standards, this was super cheap & it was quite tasty. after the drink, we headed down to the second floor to check in for our voyage.
after checking in, we are given a boat assignment (either hook or smee), a bandana (they ask all participants to wear the bandana. doesn't need to be on your head but it should be on some part of you), & a scavanger map.

i decided baby monkey was cold so i fashioned a nice dress with my bandana. technically, i wasn't cheating as baby monkey was wearing the bandana and i would be holding baby monkey so the bandana was "on" me.
and our other friend who was going on the voyage with us:
baby duffy was emme's valentine...so cute!
emme loved wearing her special bandana.
we received our items & them explored our surroundings. it was a VERY cold night in january. the low was in the high 30's. i was worried about the wind and being on the water....emme wheezes really bad when she gets a chest cold so i brought extra clothes to bundle her up. i was hoping they would possibly reschedule the voyage but unless it's a monsoon or thunder, the voyage was going to happen.
but back to our surroundings:
argh!
soon after, our host, "patches & patches" arrived & our new adventure begins.
both patches were incredibly cheesy but a funny cheesy. we were taken into a room full of sugary snacks & treats. normally, most children would go nuts over seeing all the sweets but both emme & i don't eat much sweets. however, there was a "healthy" table full of fruit, pretzels & pirate booty so it all evened out.
i also thought it was pretty funny & kind of scary to sugar up all these kids & then put them on a boat with other people & then expect them to be quiet during wishes...kids were going bonkers with the spread of candy, ice cream, cake, soda....
speaking of the spread:
a stash of cotton candy next to the fruit. ha ha.
and we can't forget baby monkey:
BEHOLD!...
this would be the ultimate disney fantasy on a very hot day at magic kingdom but on a 30 degree night....eh.
MICKEY ICE CREAM SANDWICH! (i actually like the ice cream sandwich. we just ate the ears off of mickey. i couldn't bite his face off...this time).
look at that face!
there was also a drink station with lemonade, hot cocoa, sweet tea for everyone to drink. the water was located by the ice cream cooler.
and some of the healthy snacks:
which were protected by this pleasant man:
after having our snacks, the guests of honor arrive:
captain hook & smee!
emme & i first met hook & smee on the inaugural cruise of the fantasy last january. i love hook & smee. they are such a fun character meet...especially hook.
hook & smee during pirates night on board the disney fantasy. everyone started chanting "hook hook hook!' whenever hook walked y
and of course, a selfie with my main squeeze!
so far, minus the plethora of sweets (i wish they offered some sandwiches as well), we were having a fantastic time. hook & smee lingered and played games with the kids that patches and patches had started. a lot of kids were definitely sugared up & "very excited". i saw so many random lost shoes on the floor that cracked me up.
ever wonder HOW LARGE wishes actually is? the word "ginormous" doesn't even justify how humungous wishes is. stay tuned!

i heard that at the time, they only had one person as elsa for the day & her shift was up.
either way, there was a ton of upset people in line and i'm really happy for disney's sake that at least the 2:30 group (that's me!) got to meet her. she wasn't the best elsa...neither was our last one...but now that anna & elsa are also in the new parade, that there are more than 1 elsa's walking around disney.
we saw another elsa walk by as the shift was changing.
i'm excited for them to move to princess fairytale hall. those fast passes are going to go FAST!
the only plus with long lines at epcot is the easy access to alcohol and food. at magic kingdom, you are kind of stuck in line and it's hard to leave for a potty break.
