Rockin' & Rollin'
I think that I have finally recovered enough from the experience to talk about it now.
Wow, what a cruise....I'm not sure if I mean that in a good way or a bad way. It was the family's 1st cruise so I have nothing to compare the experience with besides my perfect vacations at WDW and the expectations that were brewed visiting these boards.
Day 1 was heavenly:
We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites right by the port...it was a beautiful new inn that I would highly reccomend for you other cruisers who are contemplating a place to stay near the port. I paid $89 for the night. I decided to pay for parking at the port terminal for the convienience of not having to load and unload the luggage 8 times. Parking was $36($12/day).
I'm glad that I did this because when we got ready to leave I would not have wanted to deal with the trouble of getting shuttled back to the Inn and loading the van. We just hit the road and headed back north.
We got to the terminal about 10:15am...a good time in my opinion because it got crowded very quickly between 11:15-11:30. We checked in and realized that myself, father-in-law, and DD9 were assigned one room and DW and mother-in-law were assigned the other room. Now don't get me wrong, I love the man and all, but I ain't staying with him for 4 days. They easily and very friendly corrected the room assignments and we were off. Then DW noticed that our dinner rotations for the 2 parties were different. CM said we would have to go to Wave Bands onboard to fix that problem. We hung around about 1 hour and watched the lobby get crowded and more crowded. It was nice to not be in the turmoil.
We lounged for about an hour.....
Minnie came out and welcomed everyone...all the ladies posed together
Got one of my favorite pics on the balcony @ the terminal......
I was very impressed with the Disney terminal. It was larger and nicer that I had imagined. The Cast Members were very helpful in every way and my time spent before boarding the ship was pleasant and memorable......
At 11:45 they started boarding and our group(3) was called about 11:55.
