At which point, the ground would open up and swallow you, sending you through the wormhole under the parks that would neatly deposit you inside the stripped-down Adventurer's Club, where a stiltwalking DJ plays the "Celebrate" song 24/7 while demanding you do the macarena, and where the only beverage available is Florida water from a low-pressure water fountain.

Seriously, dude. Don't push it.

:earsboy:

You WIN!!! :worship: I will not do the Macarena!!!! :)

I'm sorry, but this is the reason why I'm glad the attraction I work at doesn't have a height requirement.

you interpreted my helpful post as bragging, not sure why but not intended (whomever that was)

and for the hardliners...a rule is a rule...that's what you stated ... besides, we have all lied at one time or another...if you haven't your in denile ...

I am just passing this tip along for the next guy that thinks its ridulous to have been refused to ride an attaraction becasue of "one" hair...if its of no use to you for whatever reason ( ethical maybe?) don't use it.

As a matter of fast....no where does it say I CAN'T put on a shoe, sock ( whatever) with a higher heel so that my son can make the hight limit...so technically ( for all you hardliners) I am NOT breaking any rule...

again, this is a thread for stategies in themeparks...if the strategy is of no value to you...move on

but talking down to the poster ( me ) only signifies that you have low self esteem and you need to take it out on me or vent so you can feel better about yourself... or you think you can make the world perfect...which is it?

I am sure a few people ( thank you to those ) have taken the info I presented and may use it one day when they go into the parks... for that I am glad and glad I could contribute to the disboards...I now it has helped me alot in the parks...and I appreciate the help...even from those that have emailed ( privately) for fear of getting ripped by a few perfect individuals...like those that popped up here...

some food for thought....

Any fool can make a rule, and any fool will mind it. -Henry David Thoreau

There are no rules here -- we're trying to accomplish something. Thomas Alva Edison

There are two great rules of life; the one general and the other particular. The first is that everyone can, in the end, get what he wants, if he only tries. That is the general rule. The particular rule is that every individual is, more or less, an exception to the rule. - Samuel Butler (1612-1680)

Young men know the rules, but old men know the exceptions - Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809-1894)

But in the end all religions tend to point to the same light. In between the light and us, sometimes there are too many rules -Paulo Coelho

Simple, clear purpose and principles give rise to complex and intelligent behavior. Complex rules and regulations give rise to simple and stupid behavior -Dee Hock

Y'know ... you're right. Nowhere does it say that you cannot stuff your kids' shoes with napkins. What it does say is "You must be this tall to ride." Doesn't even say "You must be this tall naturally" or "Your body without enhancement must be this tall." Just "you must be this tall." But Disney does expect that the vast majority of reasonable people will understand what they mean and abide by it.

I mean ... there's nowhere in the park where it says, "Do not push in front of other people when in line." So ... clearly ... all those people who do that are well within their rights. They're not breaking any rule. There are no signs that say, "Do not leave the restaurant without paying your bill." So ... again ... no worries if you do that. Doesn't break a rule.

We all get that you've decided that -- without a stated rule in writing that you can see -- you will interpret the height restrictions as mere guidelines or suggestions rather than hard and fast rules. And that's within your rights as a person and a parent, certainly. Just as it is within other peoples' rights to call you out on it because they don't agree. Because there's no rule that says they can't.

"When ancient opinions and rules of life are taken away, the loss cannot possibly be estimated. From that moment, we have no compass to govern us, nor can we know distinctly to what port to steer."
-- Edmund Burke

heres a hypothetical for ya...

the traffic light is red....your loved one is dying in the seat next to you...would you run the red light to get them to the hospital or would you just let your loved one sit there dying?

I suppose you'd sit there worried you'd break the law and let your loved one die...

go figure...

I wish someone would pull the plug already...use your energy in more useful ways...like riding the rockin roller coaster....

geezz people...tochy touchy are we?

Here is another hypothetical for ya...

You run the red light and get hit by a truck.

You both die.

Betcha running the red doesn't look like such a good option anymore

A height requirement is predicated on the fact that your child will be that height, naturally, of their own accord. Cast Members CAN ask children to remove their shoes, ask them to push down spiked hair etc.

Secondly, strategies for how to break Disney rules are not permitted. It is clearly outlined in the DIS posting guidelines that strategies are to follow all Disney rules.

Yes, sticking napkins, lifts, platforms, lollypops (bart simpson anyone :rolleyes1) under your child's feet COUNTS as breaking the rules.

Stop feeding the troll.

You just bumped the thread ;) And yup, I know I did too :thumbsup2

Thank you sooo much for this information Meesh!

Next time I'm at the park, when I just want to skip ahead of the line, skip out on a check, or allow a child to pee in the bushes (as there are no signs to say otherwise), I'll just pull out my handy dandy "quote of the day" toilet paper and start spouting off nonsense to the other guests who are following the rules as an explanation of why I am the exception.

Your help is truly enlightening. Can't wait until I get to go into the fastpass line and say "but, there is no sign that says people without a fastpass can't use this line". Then I will pull something from Shakespeare or Einstein to prove my point on their ridiculous stance of not allowing me to enter and walk past them with my nose held high :snooty:

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

:lmao:

When CMs start requiring kids to take off their shoes to inspect for signs of napkins, I guess we'll know who to thank ....

this has been intertaining...thanks for the laughs!
I can't wait until my next post...
which will be....on the scumptious food at disney world or lack thereof....

unless of course....

I am banned for being a rule breaker...

Disney puts height requirements on certain rides for a reason. Bypass them at your own (or you child's own) risk.

Since the DIS is not the place to discuss getting around Disney policies, this thread is now closed.
