Rocket mountain??

There is said to be another remodel on space mountain at this site (click on the watch the vidio or some media sort of thing clip) and its to be called rocket mountain. Is this true? watch the vidio and it will tell you about it in a part.
The rumor is it will be called "Rock It Mountain" and that the remodeling has already been done. They are waiting until June 2006 to turn it on so that they can offer something else new for the second summer of the 50th anniversary and get more mileage out of the SM refurb.

Rock It Mountain will supposedly involve different lighting/sound/theming effects on SM at night.

BTW, there is also a rumor that Disney is considering something similar for Pirates OTC. That is, a different night version than day version. The rumor is it will be called Pirates of the Scaribbean. But it will not be part of the 2006 refurb, but will be something farther out.

oh i see. never type i see when you are looking some where else. it will come out like this :aww

Rock It Mountain is currently set to Launch early May (i.e. May 5) to kick off the second year of the 50th Anniversary (Wouldn't that be the 51st though, oh well)

Milk it for all its WORTH!!! YEAAAAAAH!

Ahem8 anyway, isnt the potc going to turn into the movie ver. at night? with jack sparrow and all those others in the ride? i heard they are making another tunnel you drop into or a different path you take that has a different park of the ride when the sun goes down. just a rumor now but disney themselves hasnt said anything yet...

speaking of space mountain up there, i remember the old space mountain had a awesome soundtrack playing when you rode on it, does this ride have better rock music, or did they ruin it and put something lame.

There are rumors that Disney may make the POTC ride different at night by adding another route it would only take at night. I do not think anyone knows what it might involve. This is very speculative. It will not happen during the next refurb, as it would involve POTC going down for a very long time.

The more widely believed rumor is that during the POTC refurb in Mar-June 2006 Jack Sparrow and Barbossa will be added to the ride, but in a subtle way. They do not plan to make many changes.

New music is composed by Michael Giacchino, the same composer who did The Incredibles. It's cool.

The rumors I read (Miceage? Jim Hill Media? Can't remember) would involve utilizing the area currently used for parking the boats at night; the ride would go through this area immediately after the gunbattle between the pirate ship and the fort in the big room, where there would be scary skeleton pirates, etc. This would only be done at night; it would be marketed as the "more adult" POTC. So if you wanted to see the more tame POTC, go during the day, but if you want to be scared, go at night to see the scary version.

The Rock-It Mountain will involve Van Halen music, and different lighting effects, as I understand it.

I agree. We really liked the new music. But the rumor is that the music for the night time Rock It Mtn will be different.

Okay...for someone who's never been to DL, but I am going to be there on June 3 -7...what?

I get it that Space Mountain has been tweeked up and is called Rock It Mountain...right? :confused3

But, am I getting this all correct? Space Mountain is space mountain during the daytime, but at night they change it up...use the tweeked up version with music by Van Halen? :music: So, in reality I can ride it daytime and nighttime with 2 different experiences? :woohoo:

I need to know so I can make sure to ride it both times so I'm hoping all of you DL regulars can help me out here.

:grouphug: Thanks in advance!

Someone had posted earlier re. Rockit Mountain, that it was only for Grad Nite because there were too many problems or something to do it otherwise.

Thanks for the info! Rats though...I'd gotten all excited for nothing!

having rode it I can tell you unless they change the soundtrack its gunna be a grad night only thing (seeing as it addresses the gradsuates alot) The music track is really good (hoobastank) and I enjoyed the lights and effects. If its gunna be a night day thing they gotta take grads outta the soundtrack thats all.
