I just realized RTU is this coming weekend. I have no interest in the concert series. Has anybody been during the weekend RTU concert series? Is it going to be packed? I am staying at RPR but have friend looking at SF.

It is not bad
Decent, mannerly guests at that time

Park closes early for the event

Was there once during that time period but went to city walk when park closed

I went that weekend probably 10 years ago now. At that point, most of the day wasn't bad. "Most" groups seem to buy tickets only to the concerts. So USF can start getting busier about 4:00. IOA was a little bit busier on Saturday with people who bought packages. But, it's still September and extremely low crowds.

If you haven't bought tickets yet and aren't planning on getting A/P, The Rock Your Weekend Package with tickets to the concerts and park tickets for Thursday Friday and Saturday are cheaper than 3 day tickets.

I've read horror stories about RTU (and NOJ) crowds but I didn't experience it the 2 times I went. I also stayed around the concert areas during the concerts. Other areas of USF during concert hours might be where the problems are just because you have a large group of lightly supervised teens and tweens and many churches use this event as an outreach. But, like I said, I never experienced it and the one day was a complete downpour and bands were being postponed left and right and rides were being closed. But the youth around where I was were as good as could be expected.

Thank you both. I've been an AP holder for years and have zero in interest in the concerts. I really don't care what event at what time of year is happening, I was just curious. Think I convinced my friends to book deluxe. They still haven't booked for Columbus Day weekend. I tried to warn them! Lol

Tell your friends the closer it gets all the onsite hotels can sell out standard rooms

Columbus Day weekend is a sell out at the deluxe hotels as it gets closer to the date

Maybe SF will help avoid that weekend from a sell out

I thought you were an AP but I wasn't sure. Like I said, from my experience Saturday at IOA could be slightly busier but still low crowds. Everything else is after 4:00.

Trust me, I have been telling her!

Ok, thank you. I am debating whether do to do SF or not. We always stay deluxe but this is a kind of last minute trip.
