Rock the universe

Hello! Was wondering if anybody had any ideas when Rock the universe tickets will be available or if they have already and are gone? Going that weekend (sep 9 and 10) and all universal sight has is info on them for 2015. Saw they went on sale last year in early June. Interested in the rock your weekend tickets.

It appears the website has the 2016 info and line up with 2015 ticket info. That's strange. My best guess it that if they were already come and gone the ticket info would be up-to-date with 2016 info, right? I'd make sure to sign up for the e-mail updates. I'm going to keep searching to see if I can find anything extra out.

Ditto which makes me think they haven't gotten their ducks in a row for ticketing information and sales.

I've gone lots of Google searches and all I can find are news articles announcing the line up and 2015 posts about tickets. If they had come and gone I would be finding news articles for 2016 ticket releases.

Does that mean US closes at 4pm on those dates (unless you have an event ticket)?

no you don't have to leave until 6 pm (if you don't have rock the universe ticket)

What time does the event start?
Guests with Rock the Universe tickets can enter Universal Studios® after 4pm. The park closes for guests NOT attending Rock the Universe at 6pm, but your Rock the Universe ticket will allow you to remain in the park until 1am to experience all the music and thrills.

Yeah we didnt know there was going to be a concert. The dates just happen to fit with our cruise and flights home. My husband loves skillet though so wants to go to the concert. Signed up for the email list. Hoping will go on sale soon!

Night of Joy is still going on at Disney. It's the same weekend as Rock the Universe. In 2008, they moved it to DHS but moved it back to the MK in 2009. This year, it is being held at ESPN. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/night-of-joy/

I've been to RTU a couple of times. It's a fun event but be prepared for groups of lightly supervised teens at the concerts. I didn't have any troubles. But, I stayed in the concert areas during the concerts.

Normally the best deal on tickets is the "Rock Your Weekend" package that includes tickets to the theme parks for the weekend and concert tickets. They are normally cheaper than just theme park tickets. But, they are dated so you can only use them Friday-Sunday. I don't know about upgrading the theme park tickets if you want to stay longer.

Yes I was able to get tickets. Another part of the trip checklist completed. Now to wait patiently.
