Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

The Canon s110? Looks like a very capable photographer and camera combination.

I missed your update on MK entry. I totally agree. The Halloween borders are huge!

I wonder how many routines/shows the performers know?

Great update! :)

Thanks!

Great pic of you two in front of the castle with the Halloween decorations!

Great Jungle Cruise pics, though I'm sorry it wasn't the best of rides :(

Thanks, I love that picture too. I almost used it for my framed picture but I just liked the heart one from HS better.

The Jungle Cruise seems to hinge on the guide. If they are great, the ride is awesome but if you have a bad one it ruins the whole thing.

The camera ROCKED the dark ride!!!! :cool1: :worship:

you really have a fantastic shot of the jail scene!!!! SO IMPRESSED!!!!

where is the PTR... :rotfl2:

I was so pleased with my camera on the dark rides! I've got some more good ones coming up from the rest of the trip too.

As you know, I bowed to pressure and the PTR has been started!

Great update! Looks like a fun morning at MK :) It feels so good when you get a new camera and the pictures come out nicely! I'm glad that you were able to get the shot that you wanted on POTC.

It was a fun morning, and I loved the pictures I got with my new camera.

The Canon s110? Looks like a very capable photographer and camera combination.

I missed your update on MK entry. I totally agree. The Halloween borders are huge!

Well, I don't know about capable photographer, I think I take so many pictures that some of them have to come out! :rotfl: I think the key to this camera is to hold it as still as possible. Any movement and the pictures go blurry.

Yeah, those borders really sucked!

I wondered that too, it was very interesting to see the same performers in two different shows.

Well, I think I'm a little crazy but I decided to go ahead and start a PTR for the trip coming up here in less than a month. That means this one will slow down a bit because writing two at the same time is a lot of work! I've only got one more update done on this TR which I'm going to post in a minute. After that, it might take a bit for the next one!

Here's the link to the PTR if you are interested in joining in.

How Many People are Going on This Trip? A Feb 2014 PTR

I had grabbed a times guide for the characters when we entered the park and I realized when we got off of Pirates that it was getting close to the first set for Aladdin and Jasmine. I asked Jim if he wanted to meet them and he said definitely so we headed that way and got in line. We waited about 10 minutes for them to come out and I was surprised to see them cut off the line before they even came out. I don’t think they let more than 15 groups into the line.

This was the first time I’ve ever done a face character meet and greet and I was a little nervous because you actually have to talk to them. Jim wasn’t shy and jumped right in.

I didn’t have to worry about it because they were a lot of fun to talk to. Jasmine commented on my big “ears”. I was confused for a minute until I realized she was talking about my Dumbo shirt.

Aladdin then commented on our anniversary pins and asked us where we got married. When I said Pittsburgh, PA, he asked us if we had anything stolen at our wedding. He said that he had heard there were a lot of “Steelers” in Pittsburgh.

Jasmine then asked Jim if she could take his arm for the pictures and he proceeded to grab her around the waist and pull her close. She just said “Oh my” and went with it. Yep, my husband managed to grope one of the characters! I told him afterwards that he wasn’t really supposed to do that and he behaved for the rest of the trip.

Next up was my beloved Tiki Room. Yep, we were definitely doing the chill thing this morning. Once again I went nuts with my new camera.

There were not a lot of people in the show so we got a front row seat and I continued with the picture taking as the show started.

I think I may have embarrassed Jim as I know every word to the songs and have to sing along. I do not have much of a singing voice so it probably was not a pleasant experience for him.

When we left the Tiki Room, there was only one more thing I wanted to do in Adventureland. It wasn’t the Magic Carpets. I’ve never ridden them but knew Jim would not want to because he is not a fan of rides that go in circles. Since I was going to make him ride Dumbo later in the day I decided to skip the Magic Carpets this time. I’m sure I’ll get on them on one of my future trips.

I had remembered how much Jim had enjoyed the Jedi Training Academy at HS so I decided that he would probably like the Pirates Tutorial also. When I mentioned it to him he was very interested. A show was just about to start so that was our next stop.

The show is very similar to the Jedi one. Jack Sparrow brings kids up out of the audience and his assistant teaches the kids a short sword fighting routine. Then they get to spar with Captain Jack. Here’s the assistant getting the crowd ready for Jack.

And then Captain Jack came out and I was very impressed with how well he looked. I took many pictures to demonstrate this fact.

Yea, I’m not obsessed or anything, am I?

Then it was time to call the kids up.

And that was all the pictures I took of the show. I have no idea why I didn’t take more. It was a very cute show and Jim really enjoyed it like I thought he would. Then it was time to move on to Fronterland.

Up Next: That’s Why I Don’t Ride Water Rides!

Love reading about a good grope. :rotfl:

I've checked into the new PTR. Thanks for the link. :thumbsup2

Hi Ariana! A sure sign that my stay-cation is over and I have returned to work is that I am behind on all TRs - my own and everyone else’s! But I’m all caught up on yours now!

HDDR sounds like so much fun. The next time we go to WDW, I am definitely going to book it. The food sounds pretty tasty too.

Love the MK opening pictures. I just love that little show so much. I can’t believe we didn’t see it this last year! :scared1: I guess that’s the one down side to getting into the park before opening. :(

Really nice Halloween-y PP pic with the castle in the background. That one’s definitely a keeper!

Looks like a pretty good morning in Adventureland. You really did get some decent PotC shots, and you totally got a GREAT shot of the dog scene!

What a great meet with Jasmine and Aladdin! I love Aladdin’s “steelers” comment. But too funny about Jim groping a princess!!! :scared1: :rotfl2:

It was fun to see the Tiki Room pictures. I haven’t done that since I was a kid at Disneyland. I always forget that it’s there!

Whoa! That was one heck of a Jack Sparrow!!!!!

You have been FLYING through these updates, good thing I have time to catch up now!!! Lol.

Love the HDDR so much, seriously! And that sangria, YUM! Wow, that is a completely different cast than we saw in Sept….or the April before that! Super glad that you guys did the HDDR and had a blast at it, it’s SO MUCH FUN, I cannot wait to do it again in May, it’s gonna be such a blast!! I HAD NO IDEA THEY DID THAT WITH THE BUSSES!! I’ve always taken the boat back to MK and then bussed from there!

Okay, the way Disney shares their roles, seriously confuses me. I know that the HDDR is casted separately, but they switch up the cast so much they don’t have a principal list of people. The rope drop/trolley I thought was all parade performers, that’s what I’d heard, and I know I’d hear something about ppl not being able to hold more than one position in the company at one time but one of Quintin’s friends is in HDDR, Dream Along and B&tB….weird…

Great shots of JC & POTC, that’s so awesome that your camera was working out how you liked!

Awesome meet with Jasmine & Aladdin! I find that there’s always something to talk about with most face characters because they always have something to say! Ahahha hilarious that Jim went right for it! Good thing Aladdin didn’t mind! I

I do really enjoy tiki room! Mom really didn’t, but she got stuck watching it again when we did KTTK, it’s just a classic! Great pictures of everything, and the pirates tutorial! I really do enjoy watching it, something nice to take a break from all the rushing!

Hahaha... I can't believe Jim just grabbed hold of Jasmin and pulled her in... Too funny. I am glad you repremanded him. Alladin didn't seem to mind, so that's good. LOL

The Tiki room is not one of my favorites, but it's definately a nice respite from the heat.

We have yet to ever catch the pirate tutorial... I woudl love to some day. I have heard that Jack is amazing! And he does look an awful lot like (crap, my mind is blanking on me this morning...). You know what I mean. LOL

D~

Love your updates & the fact that I can come here and laugh (which you know I certainly need lately :sad2:) I couldn't believe you have been avoiding the face characters...I do understand your reluctance, have heard of alot of people that feel that way, just never imagined you felt that way So glad you took the plunge with them and what a great M & G you had ...sure Jim felt that way too :rolleyes1 !

Awesome job with the new camera & the hard to get pictures, jail scene :thumbsup2 really nice

Again thanks for updating and bringing us right there to WDW with you with your pictures and descriptions, particularly helpful for housebound times especially

OHHHHHHHH JACK.... lovely lovely Jack.... he is awesome isn't he??? Looks AMAZING! there is a meet and greet you need... he is so IN character and lots of fun..

Glad you did your first face greet!!!! a darn RIOT about Jim grabbing Jasmine!!! she seemed perfectly ok with the whole thing! :lmao:

I hope you met more face peeps!!!

again your pictures are fantastic!!!

I got a little behind (date with my hubby and family issues).

You got some really good pictures on the Jungle Cruise. I can never get good pictures in POTC and refuse to turn on my flash like it seems every person in our boat usually does.

Jim groped Jasmine!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That is hysterical. We had the same Jasmine last year as you guys had. Very clever of Aladdin with the "Steelers."

I think the next time we go to Disney, we should work out our dates...then my husband can go with you to see the Tiki Birds and I can skip it. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Love reading about a good grope. :rotfl:

I've checked into the new PTR. Thanks for the link. :thumbsup2

It was quite humorous after the fact but I was a little appalled at the time.

Hi Ariana! A sure sign that my stay-cation is over and I have returned to work is that I am behind on all TRs - my own and everyone else’s! But I’m all caught up on yours now!

I tend to get behind every weekend because I don't have a lot of time on the computer then. I still haven't gotten caught up on your TR!

HDDR sounds like so much fun. The next time we go to WDW, I am definitely going to book it. The food sounds pretty tasty too.

You definitely should, it's a lot of fun and you are right the food is excellent.

Love the MK opening pictures. I just love that little show so much. I can’t believe we didn’t see it this last year! :scared1: I guess that’s the one down side to getting into the park before opening. :(

I do love seeing that opening show butI doubt I'm going to get to see it this next trip.

Really nice Halloween-y PP pic with the castle in the background. That one’s definitely a keeper!

I agree!

Looks like a pretty good morning in Adventureland. You really did get some decent PotC shots, and you totally got a GREAT shot of the dog scene!

I was very happy with that jail scene picture!

What a great meet with Jasmine and Aladdin! I love Aladdin’s “steelers” comment. But too funny about Jim groping a princess!!! :scared1: :rotfl2:

It was one of the best meets we had during this trip. I need to do more of the face character greets!

It was fun to see the Tiki Room pictures. I haven’t done that since I was a kid at Disneyland. I always forget that it’s there!

It's always been a must do for me I think because I have such great childhood memories of the show.

Whoa! That was one heck of a Jack Sparrow!!!!!

You can say that again!

You have been FLYING through these updates, good thing I have time to catch up now!!! Lol.

They will be slowing down a bit now since I'm writing a PTR too.

The sangria was yummy! I love that they do that with the buses. It's not one bus per resort, they do zones so we had people from the All Stars on ours. But it still beats the boat route!

I was suprised to see some of the same people in both. Well I probably wouldn't have noticed myself, but as soon as Jim pointed it out to me it was obvious.

Great shots of JC & POTC, that’s so awesome that your camera was working out how you liked!

Thanks, I was very pleased with my new camera.

Awesome meet with Jasmine & Aladdin! I find that there’s always something to talk about with most face characters because they always have something to say! Ahahha hilarious that Jim went right for it! Good thing Aladdin didn’t mind!

We did have a great greet with them. And you are right, they were very easy to talk too. Jim had no hesitation at all! I'm not sure Aladdin even noticed , he was too busy posing next to me.

I do really enjoy tiki room! Mom really didn’t, but she got stuck watching it again when we did KTTK, it’s just a classic! Great pictures of everything, and the pirates tutorial! I really do enjoy watching it, something nice to take a break from all the rushing!

Oh, I didn't realize they did Tiki Room on KTTK. That's good to know since Mom and I are doing the tour in February. The Pirates Tutorial was pretty cute.

Hahaha... I can't believe Jim just grabbed hold of Jasmin and pulled her in... Too funny. I am glad you repremanded him. Alladin didn't seem to mind, so that's good. LOL

I'm not sure Aladdin noticed, I think he was too busy posing! I know if I was a friend of Jasmine I wouldn't want a bunch of strange men grabbing me all day so that's why I said something to him.

The Tiki room is not one of my favorites, but it's definately a nice respite from the heat.

I think I like it so much because I have fond memories of the show from childhood.

We have yet to ever catch the pirate tutorial... I woudl love to some day. I have heard that Jack is amazing! And he does look an awful lot like (crap, my mind is blanking on me this morning...). You know what I mean. LOL

D~

Johnny Depp! Yes he did look very much like himself that morning.

I really have never done a lot of meet and greets period let along face charaters. Pluto and Mickey are really the only two I try to get. Jim is the one who is interested in the characters and wanted to meet lots of them.

Awesome job with the new camera & the hard to get pictures, jail scene :thumbsup2 really nice

Thanks, I was happy with the pictures!

Again thanks for updating and bringing us right there to WDW with you with your pictures and descriptions, particularly helpful for housebound times especially

You are very welcome, I hope you feel better soon.

Great pics with Aladdin & Jasmine, so funny about Jim groping Jasmine!:rotfl2: Love the Tiki room!

Thanks, the Tiki room is one of my favorites along with most of the MK rides and shows. :rotfl:

OHHHHHHHH JACK.... lovely lovely Jack.... he is awesome isn't he??? Looks AMAZING! there is a meet and greet you need... he is so IN character and lots of fun..

I wish he did meet and greets outside of the parties! That would be awesome. Of course we did go to a MNSSHP but you'll have to wait to see if we met him or not.

Glad you did your first face greet!!!! a darn RIOT about Jim grabbing Jasmine!!! she seemed perfectly ok with the whole thing! :lmao:

Well, she did go with it but I wonder what she was actually thinking!

I hope you met more face peeps!!!

We did, stay tuned......

again your pictures are fantastic!!!

Thanks!

I got a little behind (date with my hubby and family issues).

No problem, I know what a rough time you have been having. I seem to get behind every weekend and have to catch up on Mon and Tues.

You got some really good pictures on the Jungle Cruise. I can never get good pictures in POTC and refuse to turn on my flash like it seems every person in our boat usually does.

I don't use a flash either, those were all no flash pictures. Love the new camera!

Jim groped Jasmine!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: That is hysterical. We had the same Jasmine last year as you guys had. Very clever of Aladdin with the "Steelers."

I was very impressed with Aladdin's "Steelers" comment. Well, after I figured out what he was talking about. I was a bit flustered with the greet and it took me a minute to get the joke. :rotfl:

I think the next time we go to Disney, we should work out our dates...then my husband can go with you to see the Tiki Birds and I can skip it. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Sounds good to me! I would love to meet up with you guys someday.

Unfortunately I've been busy at work so I probably won't get a real update done till the end of this week. But I'm tired of dealing with Powerpoint right now so I thought I'd post a little real life update.

First of all, Saturday was Jim's birthday. While he didn't get any Disney related gifts he did get some Lego ones. From my Mom, he got a Lego sorting station:

And from me he got a Lego Container Ship set:

He uses Container Ships to move freight almost every day so I thought the gift would be perfect for him. You can tell by his smile that he did like it. It's probably going to take him a while to put it together. That sucker is 1500 pieces and 2 feet long!

Also this weekend, I finally finished the Bear Room. What a relief to get my guest bedroom back so I can now start laying things out for the February trip. Just in time too since our MBs came Friday. Here's some pictures of the completed project.

Not too bad, I still have some on the floor but now there is more room to walk and also to continue to build my collection. No idea what I'll do if the floor gets filled again!

And finally, since I had my camera out, I tried to get some good pictures of the dogs. They really were not in the mood to cooperate as they were too busy playing. I know for sure that Remy is our dog. We have tons of dog toys and look what he has picked as his favorite.

Yep, a Pluto one! Sierra was unimpressed with the picture taking.

Remy finally calmed down and I got a sort of good shot of him. And yes, that's a chewed up couch pillow you see in the picture. Alex was a horrible chewer when he was a puppy and every one of my couch pillows looks like that. Thank goodness he outgrew that bad habit!

Alex decided he needed in on the action and gave me his best Bat Dog impression.

Unfortunately I didn't get any of Eddie because he was busy doing what he does best, sleeping!

Happy Birthday to Jim; he looks mighty pleased with his gifts.

Love the Bear room pictures...awesome job. :thumbsup2

And the dogs are just too cute for words.

Great life update!!

Oh, and we only did Tiki Rm on KTTK because the Jungle Cruise was down for refurb in Sept!!

HB to Jim.

Great update on the Bear Room and the dog-antics.

So.....is there a Lego Room to rival the Bear Room??? popcorn::

Happy Birthday Jim!!!

:bday:

looks like he had a wonderful birthday! I know you'll post a picture of the finished product.. it looks tough!!!

I love your doggies!!! LOVE!!! Remy looks like he is fitting right in.. And i have to say he looks so healthy!!! you did a wonderful thing for him.
