Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

in all fairness the pluto room has other disney characters!!!:lmao:

the retro Pluto stuff is AMAZING!!! i saw the weeble that is awesome! honestly you have a wonderful collection!! rivals most museums
of course i can't sit at home without an animal or child sitting on me. so Meg noticed you don't have this one???

i am sure you do...

the HDDR looks like a TON of fun!!! is it worth the 2 credits or do OOP??

i love the pictures you never can post enough pictures!! always want MORE!!!
feels like we are there with you!

Love the Jim picture and his washboard!!! Does he still say he isn't a disney fan??? :scratchin closet case....

All caught up! You guys got a lot accomplished at DTD! I love how excited your DH is about the Lego store.

HDDR is such a fun show. And I really like the balconies, you can get a nice view of the show from up there. Your picture turned out really nice too, I'm glad that you decided to stop and have it taken.

Great pictures of HDDR. I haven't done it either simply because my DH is a vegetarian. The ribs are part of the whole experience; at least I think so. Maybe someday, I'll just book it for me.

Congratulations on the new family member! Remy is a cutie.

The HDDR looks like alot of fun and your pictures are great. How was the sangria? I love the stuff and wonder if I could just order a pitcher!

Dang those rocker guys and their washboards, they never want to share!

Your Pluto room is awesome!! :thumbsup2

The HDDR looks really fun, I'm glad it was a success! Love Kim's "drunk" photo :rotfl2:

Do you know that in our 20+ visits to Disney, we have NEVER done any of the shows -- HDDR, the Aloha Show, the Campfire...nope, not one of them.

I love all your pictures and it looks like you and Jim had a really good time; especially Jim when he was playing the washboard.

That is amazing that you haven't done any of the shows. I've done the Luau but that was many many years ago when I was a kid. I never really had a desire to go again, the food just doesn't appeal to me. The HDDR on the other hand has the perfect food for me cause it's so simple! :rotfl:

in all fairness the pluto room has other disney characters!!!:lmao:

Of course, I can't have Pluto without a few of his friends! Most of the Donald stuff is actually Jim's.

i am sure you do...

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures! And yes the PJ Pluto made it into the collection recently. The pictures were actually taken at least a year ago so many things have been added since then. I need to update!

the HDDR looks like a TON of fun!!! is it worth the 2 credits or do OOP??

I think it's worth the 2 credits. Food is all you can eat as is the beer and sangria. Plus you get an awesome show along with the food! I've never paid OOP but I think it's pretty expensive. The 2 credit thing worked perfectly for Jim and I since we reserved one evening for Food & Wine.

i love the pictures you never can post enough pictures!! always want MORE!!!
feels like we are there with you!

Your wish is my command! I took over 300 each day on the last three days so there are tons coming up yet.

Love the Jim picture and his washboard!!! Does he still say he isn't a disney fan??? :scratchin closet case....

Yeah, he still says he's not a Disney fan.

All caught up! You guys got a lot accomplished at DTD! I love how excited your DH is about the Lego store.

He really is just a big kid when it comes to Legos!

HDDR is such a fun show. And I really like the balconies, you can get a nice view of the show from up there. Your picture turned out really nice too, I'm glad that you decided to stop and have it taken.

We did have a great view from up in the balcony. You don't get as much interaction with the performers but we could see everything that was going on from up there.

Great pictures of HDDR. I haven't done it either simply because my DH is a vegetarian. The ribs are part of the whole experience; at least I think so. Maybe someday, I'll just book it for me.

I bet they have some excellent vegetarian substitutes for the ribs if you really wanted to take him. Disney is very good about that kind of stuff. I honestly was way more of a fan of the fried chicken than the ribs.

Awesome pics! :)

Thanks!

Congratulations on the new family member! Remy is a cutie.

Thanks, we love him a whole lot already!

The HDDR looks like alot of fun and your pictures are great. How was the sangria? I love the stuff and wonder if I could just order a pitcher!

Yes, they do serve it by the pitcher! We got one when we went in 2010 with a party of 8 but unfortunately I wasn't feeling the best that night and didn't drink any. I liked the sangria but I don't drink it too often so I couldn't really tell you if it was a good one or not.

Dang those rocker guys and their washboards, they never want to share!

I know, he wasn't very nice! :rotfl:

Your Pluto room is awesome!! :thumbsup2

The HDDR looks really fun, I'm glad it was a success! Love Kim's "drunk" photo :rotfl2:

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the photos of the Pluto room. Jim had a blast at HDDR which was the whole point of going there. He does look pretty drunk there doesn't he? :lmao:

On Wednesday, October 23rd, we headed back to my favorite park, Magic Kingdom! We were up at 6 am and I spent some time rearranging our FP+ picks for the day. Originally I had the following:

10 – 11 am Jungle Cruise
11 – 12 pm BTMR
3 – 4 pm Dumbo

I wanted to ride Splash Mountain but hadn’t made a FP+ for the ride because I wasn’t sure if it would be warm enough. It was going to be a tiny bit cooler on this day but still plenty warm enough so I switched the Jungle Cruise to Splash Mountain. Also, Jim had mentioned several times that he wanted to meet Ariel. I knew her line got pretty long so I switched the Dumbo one to the Ariel greet. I used Jim’s laptop and had no problems changing the FP+ selections.

We headed out to the bus stop at 8 am because I wanted to make sure we saw the Welcome Show. This was the first morning I noticed the cute sign at the bus stop.

We had great bus luck and caught one within 5 minutes of getting to the bus stop. We were through bag check and seeing this beautiful sight by 8:30 am.

I loved all of the Halloween decorations.

It wasn’t too long before the Mayor made his appearance to welcome us to MK.

Then the townsfolk came out to say good morning.

It was about this time that Jim turned to me and said that some of the performers had been in the HDDR the night before. I took a closer look and sure enough, I recognized a few of them. In the picture above, the girl in the green skirt played the blond, Claire de Lune, the night before.

Here comes the train!

I see Pluto!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Welcome Show as usual but Jim wasn’t really impressed.

We followed the crowd into the park and keeping with my “chill” attitude decided it would be a good time to get some PP pictures before the line got too long. I was really not impressed with the Halloween borders this time, they were huge and took up half of the picture. Here is one without the border:

And the same one with the border:

See what I mean, just way too much going on there.

The photographer only took two shots, the second one is almost exactly the same as the first one.

We continued on down Main Street.

More Halloween decorations:

What a beautiful site!

Up Next: That’s a Pygmy, not a Gorilla!

Loved your HDDR pictures! That food looks delicious! But then again, you know that would be the first thing I comment on... :rolleyes1

We have considered HDDR in the past. The decision always gets nixed for the following reason: we live in the south where we get all the country music, bbq, etc on a regular basis already. So, we always end up doing something different and more unique for us. I think that is always a big reason Brian didn't care for 50's prime time...."meat and three" restaurants are like two on every corner around here. We just like to try new things when we are vacationing.

So, basically...our dining choices are made COMPLETELY opposite from the way you and Jim make yours! :rotfl:

Some day I WILL see the rope drop show at MK! :thumbsup2

Okay...I MUST get over to my own TR to do an actual update!

First off, I HAVE THAT SAME DUMBO SHIRT!!! :worship::worship::worship:

Nice job on switching your FP+ times. :thumbsup2

I love the welcome show and try to catch it once a trip if we can...it just makes me all giddy and warm.

That Halloween border is awful! I don't like it at all and can see why you weren't pleased.

I love the Halloween decorations; we've missed them the last two years and are looking forward to seeing them again in September.

I. Ormally don't reply on my phone but I'm waiting at the hair salon.. yes my actual hair color is white... Lol!!!

Had to comment every picture of mickey he has his eyes closed!!!! Ha ha ha

Ok keep writing!!! I need something to read while I sit here...

I read the very last update... but by everyone's comments, I fear I must go back and look for another? Running late this morning... Sigh.

Glad you were able to change your FP+ selections easily enough.

Loved your morning show pictures... That's like the favorite part of my day... You just know, once you see that show, that all the magic waiting for you that day is right there to be had - magnificant!

The two of you are so cute in front of the castle... I agree about those borders - I don't like them much either.

Have a great day!

D~

OOOHHH your pictures are amazing! what a fantastic camera you have! I have to ask AGAIN.. what kind is it?
as you know i am a hoarder of cameras... LOL

I had to come back today and see the pictures off the computer! they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

The PP pictures are different. You have birds flying over the castle. Which gives it the Halloween feel!!! :thumbsup2

I do try to do new things when I go to Disney but Jim is very set in his ways. I know he would have been miserable eating at one of the fancy signatures.

Some day I WILL see the rope drop show at MK! :thumbsup2

You definitely should, it's a cute show!

Okay...I MUST get over to my own TR to do an actual update!

I already commented on your new update.

First off, I HAVE THAT SAME DUMBO SHIRT!!! :worship::worship::worship:

I think I knew that. I remember seeing you wearing it in one of your TRs. There was a very specific purpose for wearing that shirt on this day which will come up in a later update.

Nice job on switching your FP+ times. :thumbsup2

I love the welcome show and try to catch it once a trip if we can...it just makes me all giddy and warm.

I feel the same way, a day at MK doesn't really start till you see that welcome show!

That Halloween border is awful! I don't like it at all and can see why you weren't pleased.

I know and there were only two total and the other one was just as bad.

I love the Halloween decorations; we've missed them the last two years and are looking forward to seeing them again in September.

Well all but one of the pictures has Mickey with his eyes closed. I'm very good at capturing that for some reason.

I have another installment coming up next! Of course that didn't help you last night did it?

I read the very last update... but by everyone's comments, I fear I must go back and look for another? Running late this morning... Sigh.

You might have missed the HDDR update because I posted it late on Tuesday then posted another early Wednesday. It's on page 20 if you want to go back. No worries though, I know how busy and stressed you are right now, I appreciate that you even stop by!

Glad you were able to change your FP+ selections easily enough.

It was very easy but of course it was still in the testing phase at that point. I'm curious to see how it goes next month when a lot more people are making selections.

Exactly!

Thanks, those pictures turned out really cute!

as you know i am a hoarder of cameras... LOL

I had to come back today and see the pictures off the computer! they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

It's just a point and shoot, a Canon Powershot S110. It definitely takes some great pictures! The credit goes completely to the camera because I really never play with the settings much.

The PP pictures are different. You have birds flying over the castle. Which gives it the Halloween feel!!! :thumbsup2

I never noticed the birds, that's awesome! I do love how the clouds over the castle look a little spooky.

My usual routine for MK is to head straight to Fantasyland but I decided on this trip to head to Adventureland first instead. We had gotten a lot done in FL and Tomorrowland the first night plus Peter Pan was closed for renovations. I didn’t feel the urgency to rush to one of those two lands first thing in the morning.

So while most people turned right into Tomorrowland or went straight to FL, we turned left and headed into Adventureland to the Jungle Cruise. It was pretty much a walk on but I still managed to take a few pictures in the line.

We boarded our boat and unfortunately ended up way in the back by the engine. This made it very hard to hear the guide. While I know the whole spiel and could follow along, Jim was pretty much lost.

We got to this point:

And our guide launched into the part about the overturned truck and the gorillas. Whoa, dude, those are Pygmy boats, not Gorillas! He realized his mistake and then sped through the correct part for that area. Guess it was still too early in the morning for him. I’m not really sure too many people noticed but I found it kind of funny.

Moving on with some more Jungle Cruise pictures.

Hey, I see a real critter on the Jungle Cruise!

Not so real…..

I had pointed out the airplane in the Casablanca scene on the GMR to Jim so I made sure to show him the other half of it on the Jungle Cruise.

Got to have a picture of the backside of water!

Continued from Previous Post (Don't miss the first part of this post on page 21).

Even more Jungle Cruise.

Well, it wasn’t the best Jungle Cruise I’ve been on, our guide was pretty bad and we could barely hear him. I was almost tempted to circle around and ride again to see if we got a better one but I knew we had lots to get done on this day so we moved on.

Next up was one of my all-time favorites, Pirates of the Caribbean. Once again it was a walk on which accounts for the blurry pictures in the line. Walking and taking pictures at the same time does not result in the best shots.

I have tried every single time I ride Pirates to get good pictures but have never had any luck. I was particular keen to get a picture of the jail scene with the dog and keys. That has always been the one scene that has wonderful memories for me and I was really glad they incorporated it into the movies. I was very excited to try my new camera and once again it did not disappoint. Some of the shots are a little dark but compared to my old camera, these are wonderful.

We wants the red head!

I can never look at this next guy without thinking about the fact that the hair on his legs is real. Kind of gross, don’t you think?

We were fast approaching the jail scene so did I finally get the shot I wanted? I think so….

I was very pleased with that photo! My next one of Captain Jack didn’t turn out as well. A little too blurry for my taste. I’ll have to try that one again next month.

Up Next: You’re Not Supposed to Grope the Characters!

Great pic of you two in front of the castle with the Halloween decorations!

Great Jungle Cruise pics, though I'm sorry it wasn't the best of rides :(

The camera ROCKED the dark ride!!!! :cool1: :worship:

you really have a fantastic shot of the jail scene!!!! SO IMPRESSED!!!!

where is the PTR... :rotfl2:

Great update! Looks like a fun morning at MK :) It feels so good when you get a new camera and the pictures come out nicely! I'm glad that you were able to get the shot that you wanted on POTC.
