Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

another great update!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy shopping with your Mom! :thumbsup2

Love the pins and yet more horns for a picture! :rotfl2:

Hahaha... I love that Jim needed his picture with the dung ball... Tooo funny!

Gorgeous, gorgeous photos of FoLK! You really did get some great ones and some fantastic close-ups!

We have only ever sat in the Warthog section on every trip... However - this last trip - I can't remember which section we were in... I know it was straight in from the doors and a little to the left. :)

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving - looking forward to your next update!

Hi everyone! I'm back to work after spending a wonderful week with my Mom. We spent most of the time shopping which is something we love to do. I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping, just have one or two more items to get. I ended up further behind at work then I thought but hopefully I can get back later this afternoon with replies and to start getting caught up on everyone elses PTRs & TRs. It may not be till next week with the way things are going. But I do have the next installment written so I thought I'd get it posted this morning.

Once back in the room we took turns showering and freshening up. I always bring a few extra shirts and was grateful to be able to change into something that didn’t feel so nasty. Jim counted his shirts and realized he brought just enough for the week so he didn’t want to change. I suggested that he could just buy one but he said no way was he buying any t-shirts because he had too many and he didn’t want anything with Disney stuff on it. I reminded him that I had brought him a hockey shirt from the Canadian pavilion on a prior trip. But he still said no and put the same shirt back on. I was sure I knew better, he cannot resist buying new t-shirts.

We headed back out to the bus stop at 4:45 pm. I don’t have anything in my notes about the bus so I’m guessing it came pretty quickly. When we got to Epcot, we first stopped for some more PP pictures.

The photographer told us to get a little closer and this is what my goofy husband did:

And some more kissing which was considerably better thanks to the showers. I thought the rocket border went well with the theme.

Before we headed back for some food and wine, I wanted to make a quick stop in Mouse Gears to look for a t-shirt I wanted to buy. We entered through the hat room and Jim found one he thought was pretty cool.

We wandered our separate ways for a while. I tend to zigzag and backtrack a lot when I shop to make sure I don’t miss anything and that annoys Jim. I’m pretty happy when he goes off on his own a bit because then he’s not walking on my heels and running into me every time I stop. I found the shirt I wanted and a few other things and also pin traded at the large board they had out.

We met up again in the last room to check out. I don’t think I ever noticed this Pluto on the wall in there.

So what all did we buy? I got the shirt I was looking for. I bought a Disney bag a while ago that has Crush from Finding Nemo on it so I really needed a Finding Nemo shirt to go with it.

I also get a picture frame every trip to put my favorite PP picture in. I have a whole shelf of Disney pictures at work. For our anniversary trip, I thought this pretty silver one would work. Now I just need to decide which picture to put in it!

By the cash register, they had a bin of small buttons and I immediately spotted a Pluto one. The pins were cheaper if you bought five so Jim picked out two Donald Duck ones and I found two others I liked.

We also found these cute magnet sets. I had totally forgotten we bought these till just now. I was wondering what in the world I did with them but then I remembered I put them down in the box with the picture frame so they wouldn’t get bent. I need to dig those out tonight!

The final thing I bought was this cute keychain that represents Pluto. They had other ones, I know there was a Mickey and Minnie and maybe Donald and Goofy too. I can’t remember for sure.

Oh, and since this was the only place I pin traded this night, here’s the pin I got. I’m pretty sure Jim saw the big board too but didn’t find anything he wanted to trade for.

We headed out and back towards Word Showcase but not before I stopped to take a picture of Spaceship Earth. It just commands me to take multiple pictures kind of like the Castle.

We passed by the Cranberry Bog.

We headed towards Canada but stopped first for me to use the restroom. I only mentioned that because a little girl, maybe 10, walked right up to me and wished me a Happy Anniversary. It was just about the cutest thing ever!

The first stop was the Canada booth. There were two things I wanted here, The Mushroom Fillet:

And the Cheddar Cheese soup:

Jim pretty much deferred to everything I wanted to try so we shared. I’ve had the Mushroom Filet before and thought it was wonderful. Jim ate the mushrooms of course and we shared the beef. It was just as juicy and tender as I remembered. Jim agreed that it was very good steak. I can’t wait to have this again in February!

As for the cheese soup, I liked the flavor but it was too “chunky” for me. There were a lot of veggie chunks in it and the texture was not for me. A lot of my pickiness is about texture rather than taste. I did eat quite a bit while avoiding most of the chunks and then Jim finished off the rest.

After we finished, I asked Jim if he wanted to see the hockey stuff in the Canada store and he said sure so we headed up there. We pretty much had the store to ourselves. Jim modeled one of the moose hats for me.

So did Mr. “I’m not buying any t-shirts” get one? Of course he did, not just one but two!

We continued around the world heading towards UK. The crowds weren’t too bad yet.

There was a bit of a line for the Ireland booth but I wanted to try the Seafood and Lobster Pie so we got in line. Pretty much right at that moment, Off Kilter started to play so Jim said he wanted to go watch while I waited in line. I occupied myself by taking pictures of the countries across the water.

Once I got my dish, I headed back and found Jim at a table by the water and we shared the Pie.

This was amazingly good! Jim described it as a Lobster Bisque with mashed potatoes on top. There were big chunks of seafood in a bisque-like sauce under the potatoes. Once again we scraped the bowl clean while listening to Off Kilter.

Glad you had a great week with mom!

Love the shirt you're wearing!

I tend to zig zag a lot when shopping too, ESPECIALLY in Disney! Love all your purchases. The bow keychain is adorable, wish I saw that!

I traded for that same pin :rotfl:

Sounds like a good start at World Showcase :)

I missed you ! So glad you had a great time with your Mom Nice pictures again of the 2 of you I love Jim's sense of humor in the " get closer" picture and the moose hat had me on the floor :lmao: Poor Fred was home for Thanksgiving and the man gained some weight on the road...horrible food choices at truck stops so I understand BUT when we tried for the funny hat pictures in EPCOT he couldn't find one hat that fit :rolleyes1 I convinced him they were all kids hats and we moved on ;)

Hey I never noticed that Pluto picture on the wall either Really liked your Pluto inspired keychain ( FYI STILL no bank in yet ) Looking forward to the F & W report..looks great so far...as I never did get over there this year

TTY soon I have a big work schedule this weekend so will be updating again probably next week ( that's okay though still much for you to catch up on LOL )

Welcome back Ariana! Glad you had a good visit with your mom... bummer you coulnd't make a quick trip down to Disney - but at least you get to go again soon. Shopping is always fun too though. :)

I really enjoyed reading this update - the food all looks delicious!

I loved Jims shirts - eh? Hahaha... I find myself saying "eh" a lot - even though I don't live in Canada. ;) But I think it's funny that he got some new shirts anyways.

And I think your new shirt is fantastic - I really want a "mine" shirt - they are soooo cute!!! Maybe I should make myself one? But you know me - the shirt would turn into a bag, then that would turn into needing a headband... then flip flops... and God only knows what else. Maybe I should just let you enjoy your Mine shirt? LOL It' would be cheaper and save me 40 work hours. ;)

I am really impressed by your new camera... It looks like is has a really nice zoom on it. That is one thing I don't have on my little point n' shoot that I would love to have, but I like my camera too much (and I am too cheap) to get a new one. LOL

Loved all of your new pins and magnets... and that adorable key chain!

Anyways - Great update! Can't wait to read the next one.

D~

Glad to hear you had a good visit with your Mom! And Welcome Back!

Wow - great souvenir choices. I love the Pluto magnet!

The F&W stuff looks so yummy. *sigh* So jealous.

I love that your DH just couldn't resist some t-shirt purchases. :thumbsup2

whooooray for Mom time! shopping is a fun outing with Moms!!

you knew Jim best. glad you got him in the store to buy some shirts. :cool1:

The food PORN! Oh GOODNESS it all looks amazing! From Ireland i am in NEED of that right now!!!
im hungry...

I'm finally all caught up! It looks like you two had a wonderful anniversary trip so far :)

I love how well your new camera is working out for you. It feels so good to be able to take the kind of vacation pictures that you want.

You can never have too many pictures of the castle, and you got some great shots!

I'm sorry that BOG got rid of your favourite dish. I am a picky eater too (mostly vegetarian and no onions) so I know how hard it is when you find a dish that you feel comfortable eating and then they remove it from the menu.

I hope that the rest of your CSR experience went better, that is a long time for them to take to bring your GG order.

You guys also got a bunch of great PP shots! What a cute couple :goodvibes

Glad you had a great visit and are now back to catch up! Lol

Love that evil queen shirt!!

UGH THOSE PINS!! MY TWO FAVORITE WALT QUOTES!!

Reasons I need to go to food and wine: I can get mushroom filet and cheddar cheese soup ALL DAY LONG.

Have fun with your Mom! :goodvibes

I understand about the heat getting to you. Sometimes it just shuts you down, no matter how much you want to trek on. I'm glad you still made it to see FOTLK! I love the tumble monkeys too :) And great pin trades!

Mom and I had a wonderful time! It was so hot that day. You would think coming from Atlanta I would be able to handle it. There was nothing stopping me from seeing FOLK that day since I was pretty sure it would be closed for our February trip.

Yay for details in Ak! Lol,. Seriously, best ever. I love that place! Great photopass shots! Even if it was a gross kiss, lol! Love the pics inside the EE queue, there’s so much to look at and I never even have enough time lol! Too bad your ride photo was cut off! I did find that happened with one of our photos but when they pulled it up on the screen at the desk they were able to shift it around so you could see me in it!

I know, AK is just so much fun. Someday (in my dreams) when I have a month to spend at WDW, I'm going to spend all day at that park just looking at the details. I wish I had know they could move the photos a bit, I would have stopped at the desk. I'm sure the picture was epic!

Flame tree is always such a hit! Yum!

Yum is right!

Ahahah, I love it when people leave when the characters leave, like theyre gonna be RIGHT back, some people just don’t know! Awesome character meets! Looks like it was a blast!

I even said they would only be gone for 5 minutes but I guess the people around us didn't believe me. Their lose and my gain though! The Up meet was one of the best that week.

Ahhhhhh if you’d gone to Disney you’d’ve been there at the same time as us!! Lol. SO CLOSE! It’s not weird to have a favorite section…I live in that Elephant section, same seats every time too…I’ve sat in giraffe and lion recently and it just feels WEIRD lol. I am concerned for when they move it as they will probably be changing some things, I’m hoping they keep most of the show the same!

So close! I think you are going again in Feb? Maybe our dates cross then? Of course my week is going to be totally nuts due to the number of people so I'm not sure that DIS meets are going to be possible. I hope they keep most of the show the same too, it's so popular I think Disney will get a lot of compaints if they change it too much.

I totally get that about seeing things go wrong, like…what…what just happened. The poor bird girl hit a light in Oct when they pulled her up too fast, I was a little scared for her life. And right after auditions last Feb there was a new bird guy and he had no clue where he was supposed to be during be prepared…

Oh, the light incident does sound scary! It always amazes me how well everything is coordinated with the different shows at Disney.

That was a pretty full day at Ak, glad you guys got to do almost everything you wanted before heading out!

We did get everything done I wanted to except visiting the Tigers. It was just way too hot to walk that trail that day. I know we will visit them this next trip because my SIL still hasn't stopped talking about the bats and she was there last in 2010.

I hope you have a great visit with your mom!

We saw the FotLK for the first time in August - wow! What a great show. I thought your pictures came out really nice. :thumbsup2

We did have a great time, thanks! Wow is definitely a good word to describe that show!

Good morning Ariana... I know I am a bit early - but I won't have time to do this tomorrow. So, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your mom!

MickeyThanksgiving.jpg

D~

Thanks! I was glad to read that your family had a nice Thanksgiving too.

another great update!
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy shopping with your Mom! :thumbsup2

Love the pins and yet more horns for a picture! :rotfl2:

We did have a wonderful week together!

Oh, the horns just keep coming, don't worry there are lots more yet!

Hahaha... I love that Jim needed his picture with the dung ball... Tooo funny!

D~

He "needed" his picture with a lot of things this trip, he's funny like that. We took a train ride in North GA the day after Thanksgiving and he got his picture with the Grinch, an elf, the train conductor and Frosty. He was kind of mad when Santa passed us over since we had no kids with us.

Hmmm, you were either in the Giraffe section or the Elephant section. Giraffe is immediately to the left, then going clockwise from there, it's Elephant, Lion then Warthog.

My Mom got me that shirt for my Birthday from the Disney Store. I don't have a lot of stuff with Villians so I really like it.

I actually didn't find the keychain, Jim did! I'm really glad he spotted it for me.

We did have a pretty nice start. I was expecting it to be more crowded because of Food and Wine and Sunday night but it wasn't too bad.

TTY soon I have a big work schedule this weekend so will be updating again probably next week ( that's okay though still much for you to catch up on LOL )

Yea, Jim has a twisted sense of humor. I think you probably picked up on that one a bit when we were together. :rotfl: Bummer that the hats didn't fit Fred, those would have been some cute pictures for your thread.

The Pluto picture is up near the ceiling in the room near the back of the store. You'll have to check him out next time you are in that store.

Bummer that the bank isn't there yet. Maybe by February it will be in.

Welcome back Ariana! Glad you had a good visit with your mom... bummer you coulnd't make a quick trip down to Disney - but at least you get to go again soon. Shopping is always fun too though. :)

I would have gone to Disney in a minute but Mom really couldn't afford it and she would have never let me pay. If we weren't going in February I'm sure we would have ended up there! The shopping was lots of fun.

I really enjoyed reading this update - the food all looks delicious!

Most of it was that night.

I loved Jims shirts - eh? Hahaha... I find myself saying "eh" a lot - even though I don't live in Canada. ;) But I think it's funny that he got some new shirts anyways.

When we lived in Northern PA, we had a lot of friends that were from Canada. Jim loved the accent so it was a no brainer for him to get that shirt.

LOL It' would be cheaper and save me 40 work hours. ;)

I do love my new Nemo shirt! They used to be a light green but I'm glad they changed them to blue because it matches my bag so nicely. :thumbsup2 I say go for it and make a shirt, I always love seeing your handywork!

I am really impressed by your new camera... It looks like is has a really nice zoom on it. That is one thing I don't have on my little point n' shoot that I would love to have, but I like my camera too much (and I am too cheap) to get a new one. LOL

Thanks! For the most part I am happy with the new camera. The next step would be a DSLR and I just don't have the patience to learn one of those. This was the first time I've bought a camera without breaking my old one. It feels kind of strange to have two working cameras right now. I have a feeling that Jim will eventually claim my old one to take to concerts with him. He uses his phone now but it doesn't take the best pictures.

Loved all of your new pins and magnets... and that adorable key chain!

Anyways - Great update! Can't wait to read the next one.

D~

Thanks, I put the key chain on my work bag. I'm not sure that anyone at work actually gets that it's Pluto but I know and that's all that matters right?

Glad to hear you had a good visit with your Mom! And Welcome Back!

Wow - great souvenir choices. I love the Pluto magnet!

The F&W stuff looks so yummy. *sigh* So jealous.

I love that your DH just couldn't resist some t-shirt purchases. :thumbsup2

I like that Pluto magnet so much that I'm thinking about getting a second one for my file cabinet at work. I have the first one on my fridge at home.

The Food and Wine stuff was delicious for the most part. We did run into one dish that was not so good but I'll be posting about that soon.

He can never resist buying new T-shirts. He is good though about putting a few old ones in the Goodwill bag a couple of times a year.

whooooray for Mom time! shopping is a fun outing with Moms!!

you knew Jim best. glad you got him in the store to buy some shirts. :cool1:

The food PORN! Oh GOODNESS it all looks amazing! From Ireland i am in NEED of that right now!!!
im hungry...

Mom and I are pretty much best friends so we always have a great time together no matter what we do!

I do know him well. He wasn't done either with the T-shirt purchases during the trip. We will have to keep a count as we go. :rotfl:

The Ireland dish was amazing!

I'm finally all caught up! It looks like you two had a wonderful anniversary trip so far :)

We did have a wonderful trip!

I love how well your new camera is working out for you. It feels so good to be able to take the kind of vacation pictures that you want.

Yep, it was so nice having a better camera. It still doesn't do everything I would like but it was a good compromise since I didn't want to go with a DSLR.

Luckily that new Chicken Dish was just as good as the Cornish Hen. I may get a little wild next time and try the lamb or steak dish.

I hope that the rest of your CSR experience went better, that is a long time for them to take to bring your GG order.

It was a really long time and kind of soured me on CSR. I would stay there again if there was a good deal but it's definitely not my first choice of the moderates.

You guys also got a bunch of great PP shots! What a cute couple :goodvibes

Thanks! I was determined to get my moneys worth out of the PP+ card.

Glad you had a great visit and are now back to catch up! Lol

Love that evil queen shirt!!

Thanks, Mom got that for me for my Birthday.

UGH THOSE PINS!! MY TWO FAVORITE WALT QUOTES!!

Me too! I had no problem picking out two more to get to the five needed for a discount.

Reasons I need to go to food and wine: I can get mushroom filet and cheddar cheese soup ALL DAY LONG.

Yes you can! And if you are on a dining plan, you can use snack credits for them!

Before I start this update, I thought I'd share one of the items I bought during my shopping spree with Mom last week. She wanted to go to Ikea to look for dishes for my SIL. So while we were there I decided to get a new cabinet for my Disney movies. The one I had before was full and had some broken drawers on it. It took me a few days to get it put together (hinges really suck) but it's done now. It has six shelves and I only filled three so I have lots of room left to keep expanding my collection!

On with the update....

When Off Kilter finished, we headed back to the UK and Jim said he needed to use the restroom so we headed there. I had gone right when we entered World Showcase but I never pass up a restroom stop. When I came back out, the weather had completely changed. The wind was blowing something fierce and dark clouds were rolling in from the Boardwalk area. This unfortunately was one of the times that Jim spent a long time in the bathroom. Huge drops of rain started falling while I was waiting. I was thinking about heading back into the bathroom in case it started coming down harder but Jim finally came out and we ducked into the UK store just in time before it let loose.

I thought it would be crazy crowded but it wasn’t too bad. We walked slowly back through the store checking out all the merchandise. When we got to the very back, Jim saw the meet and greet area and asked who was in there I said it was Tigger and Pooh who we met earlier. Jim couldn’t resist peeking in though and he said that Tigger was not in there it was some rabbit with Pooh and could we go see him? Of course I was game! Rabbit is pretty rare so I had no problem meeting him. The line was actually outside along the back of the store but it was under an awning and was surprisingly short. We only waited about 10 minutes before we got to enter Christopher Robin’s room.

The meet was very cute, they applauded us for our Anniversary, and we got hugs and pictures and then headed out.

It had stopped raining by that point and while it was still windy and cloudy, it didn’t start raining again that night.

Next stop was France and my first drink of the trip, a Cosmo Slushie:

We also got an order of the Beef Short Ribs to share.

The Cosmo Slushie was delicious. I could have drank four or five of these! As for the Beef Short Ribs, this was one of my favorite dishes all week! Jim and I were literally fighting over them, we really should have gotten two orders. They were really just beef ribs in a red wine sauce over mashed potatoes but the were sooooooo good! I seriously thought about going back for a second order but there was more stuff that I wanted to try so we moved on.

The next stop was the New Zealand booth for a Lamb Meatball with a Spicy Tomato Sauce.

We both thought this was disgusting. I only tried a couple of bites because it was way too spicy for me. I guess I should have heeded the name but I thought I could scrape the sauce off and be ok. Also, both the bread and the meatball had a weird mushy texture to them. Definitely will not be getting one of these again. Jim did finish it but only because he hates to waste. Personally I would have thrown it out after the little bites I tried.

While we were standing there eating, SE caught me again and made me take another picture.

After that gross meatball, Jim said he needed a break from the strange foods and I agreed. He said he wanted to go to Germany to shop. So we slowly continued to make our way around the WS. The crowds were really starting to pick up at this point. We did stop at each booth and read the menu but my stomach was starting to feel a little sick and Jim said there was nothing he wanted. I had really wanted to try the Cheese Ravioli at the Italy booth but decided cheese was not the thing to put in my stomach at that moment.

We made it to Germany and Jim did some shopping. I was feeling pretty sick at that point and ended up running to the restroom while he shopped. I was officially done with Food & Wine for this night!

Jim took German all through high school and college and was anxious to talk to some of the CMs so he spent quite some time in there while I visited the ladies room. He did buy some stuff. First of all was t-shirt number three.

Jim is so predictable when it comes to t-shirts. This wasn’t the last one he bought during the week either! His other purchase was a German Mickey pin.

I was feeling a little better at this point and surprisingly was still hungry. I knew I couldn’t put anything else strange into my stomach though so despite all of the yummy food booths around me, I bought a soft pretzel.

It did the trick and I felt much better as I munched on it. We continued to stop at every booth and bought nothing. I regretted not getting the Seared Mahi Mahi at the Singapore booth and the Grilled Lamb Chop at Australia. Jim finally found something else he wanted to try, the Beef Empanada at Argentina. This turned out to be his favorite thing from Food and Wine. Unfortunately I completely forgot to take a picture.

The Argentina booth was one of the last ones and it was getting close to Illuminations time. I’m not really a fan and after Jim said Wishes was “just another fireworks show” I decided we should just head out for the night.

As we were exiting, I asked Jim if he would mind stopping in the art store on the way out and he said sure. When we entered, we realized that there was an artist there selling and signing his works. His name is Greg McCullough. Here’s his Artist Profile:

Greg McCullough Disney Profile

He was selling his prints for only $40 and I found one I just had to have. It totally fits my personality and Disney likes. What do you think?

Here’s where he signed it for me:

Jim decided he wanted one too and I was sure he was going to pick Donald Duck as Darth Maul from Star Wars but instead he surprised me by picking this one.

Signature on Jim’s print:

Greg was very nice and we ended up talking to him about his art and love for Disney for about 10 minutes.

We finally left just as Illuminations was starting. A bus pulled up as we were getting near the stop so Jim jogged ahead to make sure we caught it. I think there was less than 10 people total on the bus when we left Epcot.

We made it back to the room without any delay and turned off the lights for the night at 10:30 pm.

Up Next: The Dreaded Tower of Terror!

Love the new DVD case!

Rain stinks but at least you were able to duck into the shop and meet some characters! Jealous you got to meet Rabbit, that's awesome!

I kind of wish I tried the Cosmo Slushie! Glad the Beef Short Ribs were out of this world, but sorry the meatball was terrible and made you sick :(

So much for Jim not buying any tshirts :rotfl2:

I absolutely love both the prints you guys bought!!

Fantastic update Ariana!

Glad you werea ble to avoid the rain by meeting Pooh and Piglet - such cute pictures!

The food all looks delicious - can't turn down food anywhere, LOL.

Then I LOVE the prints - both of them!! Excellent taste! So, have you hung them yet?

D~

Wow, I had fallen quite behind with your report! I get to post my own version of Eating Around the World soon...cannot wait for that post! So far, there are only two things you tried that we also tried. :scratchin We went CRAZY trying things...but we five of us sharing, we definitely had more room in our tummies for a large number of samples. :cool1:

Wonderful update: I would have hated that meatball too...actually I probably wouldn't have tried it :crazy2: I have NEVER had a good experience with lamb
ahh too bad you missed the cheese ravioli from Italy its the best I have ever tasted that wasn't made by a relative of mine..but it made a lot of sense to skip it

I met Greg too at Festival of the Masters ! what a very nice man and can you believe I fell in love with the very same 2 art pieces you got BIG surprise there huh ??? I didn't get either of them though, maybe next time I'm leaning toward the HM one

Now I cannot believe I have NEVER been to Christopher Robinsons room I didn't even know it existed I have met with the characters there before, long time ago, but it was always outside if I remember right What luck that the " non-Disney loving husband" spotted Pooh & Rabbit ..a rare find indeed :goodvibes GREAT pictures so cute

Ariana, welcome back and so glad you had a good trip with your mom.

I am too far behind to comment on everything (I've only scratched the surface of TR's I have to catch up on and then start my own TR).

I loved the rest of your Animal Kingdom Day. You got some great shots at Festival of the Lion King.

Your evening at Epcot is off to a great start. I've never seen Rabbit with Pooh Bear...that is so cool!

Funny Jim wouldn't change his shirt or buy a new one. :rotfl2:

Thanks!

I saw the update! Gonna be a while yet before I get there on my TR.

I know, I was so excited to see him up! I'm really loving the new camera, that's for sure.

It was awesome to see him up and about! No, not really but I could look at animals all day. But I would do the WAT again in a heartbeat.

You are welcome my friend! Glad I could provide you with an escape today.

Well I do aim to please! :rotfl: Actually I just take way too many pictures. Sometimes when I get home I'll look at some of them and wonder why in the world I even took them. :confused3 I'm sure I had a purpose at the moment.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! I wish Jim had fallen in love with Disney but he really didn't. He kept saying all week that he wouldn't have to do this for another 15 years.

I haven't done the Backstage Safari yet but did do the Wild Africa Trek last year with my Mom. We loved it and thought it was absolutely worth the money!

Yeah, I don't think those Hippos ever move! The Giraffes were in a slightly different place this time which made picture taking a little hard.

Um, no singing from me, I didn't want to scare the other guests or the animals. :rotfl: You know the horrible outtakes from American Idol? Well take those times 10 and you've got my singing voice. Yep, it's that bad. Thank goodness I know it's that bad unlike those contestants!

I like the safari in the morning too! I'm sure by later that day when it was boiling the animals were all asleep.

I only saw one baby but I don't think all of the Giraffes were out yet that day. I think there are only two of them, I remember our guide on the Wild Africa Trek saying that two of the females were pregnant.

There were 2 baby giraffes, however, one of them injured a leg and had to be put down as they were unable to fix it. It was Mosi I believe - Stefanie the giraffe's baby.

Poor Baby poor Momma
