Disney has shown for years now that they want their IP in every attraction so I have no doubt a re-theming of this attraction is somewhere in the pipeline. When it is done it will not be some new musician but instead some Disney IP.

This lawsuit may be used as an excuse to move that up but it wouldn't be the real reason. This isn't really news and was out in the public before this ride even opened.

For years they have played as the house band for the Muppet Show, but now they are going pro... but only if they can get their demo tape back/to the label in time... or maybe they need to get Floyd across town in time for the gig... but quick, no worries... there is a car waiting to race you through the streets to the show, Animal will make sure you get there in time....
Add in some Muppets, some new signs and new soundtrack, and we have a retheme

But seriously, aren't they reviving the Muppets with more content coming, Muppet Mayhem is coming in 2023 and will feature the band? Might not be so far fetched.

Doesn't have to be complicated, turn it into Cars. Racing Academy is right next door.

A Monsters Inc door coaster has also been mentioned as an idea a whole ton.

The Monsters coaster idea is fun, but it seems odd to me to think of retheming what is arguably Disney's most thrilling ride (with the exception now of the new Guardians coaster) and the one with the tallest height restriction around an IP with a primary audience in the Hot Wheels-and-plushies age bracket.

I do like the Muppets idea, though, and that's one that has definitely shown staying power across generations. It wouldn't even take any major rethinking of the storyline or setting, as someone else mentioned - it could be as simple as Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem in place of Aerosmith racing to the gig.

I disagree, I’m sure they wanted to see what they could get out of ST, they just like the parents who let their kid go hang out and have sleepovers with Michael Jackson.

It’s a good roller coaster, and my family would ride it no matter what the theme, but we do love the music and Aerosmith theming as it is, so I”d prefer no retheme.
