Rock 'n Roller Coaster may not be featuring Aerosmith

I searched this thread out after watching "Walt Disney World" on the travel channel a few minutes ago. I didn't know of the rumor, but I quickly picked up on how the WORD "Aerosmith" was NOT used, and how it seemed it was PURPOSEFULLY not used. I also noticed (as a person studying photography) that they angled the shots so as to NOT show Aerosmith on the signage. The people commenting on how great the ride is also referred to it as "Rockin Roller Coaster" which I found as odd; we always just called it "Aerosmith".
IE "We're gonna go ride the Aerosmith"

See If I had been interviewed I would have been Calling Rock n Roller coaster as well. So I would not read that much into it.

If thet were to ever re-theme it I would like to see something like the muppets band. How about Poison "Nothin But a Good Time" would work well on that ride.

What does it have to do with Hollywood? AI is at least a TV show.

Sunset Strip in Hollywood famous for its rock clubs. The premise of RRC in the pre-show is a highspeed ride through the streets of LA. Hollywood is far more than just movies and TV.

RRC is cool and edgy! I love Disney and how it brings out the child in me, and RRC brings out the young adult in me. I keep coming back to Disney even though my daughter is 20 because it appeals to all ages. My daughter and a group of her 20 something friends are going to Disney rather than a party in Mexico for just that reason, and I couldn't be happier. WDW has something for all age but does so in a clean and safe environment. This is why it continues to be the number 1 resort destination.

Officially its Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, as for the travel channel show not showing the Aerosmith name it may have been deliberate.

Rights issues can be strange, like they can't use the name in TV shows. :confused3

Remember Robin Williams left the Aladdin movies because Disney used his voice to promote toys in Burger King kids meals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_williams#Disputes_with_Disney

Maybe the producer of the show just doesn't like Aerosmith? :confused3 :goodvibes

Yeah, you can't even say "Super Bowl" anymore officially due to specific rights requirements :rolleyes:

I seriously hope that rumor is not true. Aerosmith is my favorite band of all time and ironically RNR is my favorite ride at Disney!! I don't think I'd be able to go to DHS ever again if they removed Aerosmith from the ride... :sad2:

I agree whole heartedly! I Love Aerosmith and the RNRC is absolutely my favorite ride EVER! It just would not be the same any other way.

Areosmith is not going anywhere. They will be the "Hosts" of RNRC for the forseeable future. A replacement band to consider though: KISS, their music would fit well and Gene Simmons would sell his mother if it would make him money.

:sick::sick::sick::sick: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
KISS is just NASTY. If you think the aerosmith hand salute thing was bad.... Gene Simmons is NOT one to associate with Disney. BAD IDEA

I'm glad that this rumor is not true, but I doubt that Disney would use an actual band if they wanna save money when they need a new band. Should Aerosmith be dropped from the ride anytime soon, if the Disney execs are smart they'll make use of their fictional rock group Iron Weasel from "I'm In the Band". To me, that makes sense.

We REALLY don't know if its true or not. Until I hear it from Eisner himself I wont be completely convinced either way. Lots of people come on these boards and speak as if they know something you don't. And most of them dont know much more than the rest of us.
There is another thread here that is prime example of this. One person saying one thing, and everyone else saying they do or do not believe them.

And I don't always believe CMs either. I have heard quite a few things from CMs and bus drivers that was later found to be wrong.

Here's a good example to prove my point. On your next trip, take a notepad and ask each bus driver what KIND of fishes are on top of Swan and Dolphin, why they are there, and if there was a mistake in the design. Take notes and count the responses!:thumbsup2:happytv:

I wouldn't believe anything Eisner says at all, considering he hasn't worked for the company in several years ;)

Not going to happen for at least two reasons I can think of.

  1. Kiss is not as mainstream as Aerosmith and their "antics" while performing turns way too many people off.

  2. I would have never though of this reason until my sons' dressed as Kiss for a Halloween parade while marching with the high school band. One of their section leaders had to stay away from my son due to her fear of clowns. I would have never thought of this but there is a portion of the population that has a major issue with clowns even as adults. Someone here even wrote that they heard that Goofy's Barnstormer was going to be re-themed with a clown motif(not circus) and she would never go near it if it did.

You see what I mean? I'm on here giving Disney advise and I don't even know who runs the dang place!:rotfl2::happytv::rotfl2:

You can't get a better example than that! :rotfl::surfweb: (I'm gonna blame it on the 4 hours of sleep a night I've been getting lately so I don't look quite as stupid.):rotfl2:

Can we just let this thread die? It's not going to happen, knowing Disney NONE of anything anyone has said remotely has a shot of happening and since Aerosmith didn't break up and Steven Tyler is on the verge of becoming one of the new American Idol judges, I doubt there will be a change.

Agreed this was necer ever considered.

Just got back from WDW and a CM mentioned Hannah Montanna as the new theme for RR

:rotfl:

That is awesome. Honestly, I would love to see some concept work for this, as well as some samples of any music that would make sense on such a ride. Anyone here ready to mock this up?

I only hope they do not use a kiddie or teenybopper band, please don't let everything at WDW become about kids.

SOMEONE is considering it. :surfweb:popcorn::

Someone on another thread mentioned that Universal asked them to take a survey about new themes for rides. Several were Disney themes with specific comments about Hannah Montana. Wondering if the Hanna Montana rumor may be true and that Universal is trying to figure out how to drum up some negative press?

Steven Tyler is going to be a new judge on American Idol which is now part of Hollywood Studios. Since there is now more of a tie between Aerosmith and Disney I don't see why they would drop Aerosmith from the RnRC.
