Rock 'n' Roller Coaster--Fact or Rumor?

I'm glad we've put this to bed as pure rumor, but I'm a little bit amazed at the reactions by some. Do you honestly think people won't ride the coaster because of the background music? The coaster by itself is extremely fun. In fact every time I ride it I'm so focused on the ride that I couldn't even tell you what Aerosmith songs are playing!

It may just be me but I'll ride it no matter if it's Hannah Montana, Aerosmith, Barry Manilow, or Nana Mouskouri! I just love the coaster!

like many other rumors we hear...we just wait and listen. If we are voting, I vote to leave it alone!!! Along with Test Track!! Rumor has it that Toyota will be sponsering it next :scared1:

Disney makes a ton of money off sponsorships. If GM will no longer pay, they'll switch to whoever is willing to pay. Keep in mind that Wonders of Life closed after their sponsorship ended (Met Life?).

I just heard from one of the bus drivers that RnR is going to be re-themed for older folks.

It's going to be a Barry Manilow ride and the music will be Copacabana! :lmao:
I like that song.

I'd like "Play That Funky Music" and "Ballroom Blitz" as well. "99 Red Balloons", "Whip It"...they could show clips of that old "Remote Control" show from MTV instead of that little Aerosmith movie (which IS cute the first time.)

Disney would do much better to just have a bunch of different songs than to sign one band. One hit wonders would probably be cheap. I'm not an Aerosmith fan. I like Rolling Stones and AC/DC, but not everyone does. You can't win with one band.

If it were Hannah Montana and Jonas Bros, I'd never ride again, lol.

Yes, I know I wouldn't b/c the ride is a little intense for me, and I'll only go on it if there is something else drawng me to it (Aerosmith). I can imagine boys being too cool, even embarrassed, to go on a HM or JB themed ride. Adults with no kids that haven't done any reserach/planning could easily write it off as "some kiddie ride" with that kind of theme. I know if I saw a HM themed roller coaster, I'd think "barnstormer." And in this case you couldn't just change the music; you'd HAVE to change the theme, b/c, I'm sorry, but there's no way on earth HM or JB can be considered "rock and roll."

Sorry if this has already been discussed but I did a quick search and didn't find any information regarding what I just heard.

A friend of a friend is visiting Disney at the moment and said that "there's a sign near RnRcoaster saying that it will close at the end of 2009 and in it's place there will be a Hannah Montana/Jonas Brother's attraction."

Could this possibly be true?

:scared:

OH SAY IT ISN'T SO:eek: I know the kiddies LOVE these two acts: but PLEASE PLEASE let it just be an ugly rumor :sad2: I love that ride and just don't think I could go on it if I had to put up with the Jonas Bros or Hannah while waiting to ride it:scared1: Hopefully if it is true it won't happen till after my Nov/Dec trip.

I think the longevity of Aerosmith is much greather than HM or Jonas. Just look at Lizzie Maguire (Hillary Duff) wasn't she the 'Hanah Montana' a few years back

If you think Aerosmith is passe, you obviously don't have Guitar Hero in your house!!

I  Guitar Hero. But what about a Pink Floyd laser light show....anyone go to one of those??????

Oh shoot. I was hoping for Michael Bolton.

;)

Okay, just to set the record straight...

There IS a sign featuring Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers near RnR. But it's NOT announcing a retheming of the attraction. It's located in the new Kid's Area that just opened in Rock'n'Roller Coaster Plaza. It's called "Walt Disney Records On The Road" and is a coloring area similar to the Kidcot stations in Epcot. :)

That's awesome! Now my DS will have something to do while me and my boyfriend take turns riding. :wizard:

I would have to laugh if they redid the ride as a Hannah Montana/Jonas Bros theme. It wouldn't do too well considering anyone over age 15 would think it would be too lame, and the majority of Hannah and Jonas fans are between the age of 7 and 13. Kids of those ages will not ride a roller coaster like RNR. Disney would lose a bundle and have to change it back.

No, no. For something really timeless, it has to be Neil Diamond! :lmao:
Okay, Neil Diamond had some EXCELLENT songs. Really excellent.

I know it isn't cool to like him like it was back when Christ lost his shoe, but I really do. The guy was a hell of a songwriter.

Geez, this thread is making me feel older than dirt.

I doubt it. If it does happen, I'll have to bring earplugs when I go on lol. The ride is good but I wouldn't be able to stand the Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana.

I was just skimming through the posts and I see alot of votes for AC/DC. If I remember correctly, AC/DC was originally the first pick for the creators of the ride but when Disney approached them, they wanted too much $$$. When the guys heard what the band wanted they scrapped that and all went out to their cars and got all the CD's they had. After going through all the music they had with them, they all agreed on Aerosmith. Aerosmith accepted, and here we are! I say it worked out perfectly:thumbsup2
