Rock n Roller Coaster Aerosmith Ride

RnR is the most awesome ride
The first time DS went on he asked both DH & myself if it went upside down and we didnt answer him
once we got out he wanted to go again and again and again
we made great use of the fastpasses that time

One thing, if you don't like it, its an extremely fast ride, fast as in over very quickly. I think its good but I expected there to be more to it though. I think they could have put more to see in the ride, more neon signs, etc. The ride is less intense than the coasters at BG or IOA/USF, if that helps at all.

We love RNR!! My 8 year old DS wants me to tell you that he was nervous the first time he rode, but now it is his favorite ride and he can't get enough. The fast take off is awesome, but if you are nervous about it, don't watch it while you stand in line. My DS had no idea about the take off until after the ride b/c I chatted him up and didn't let him see anything until we got in our Limo -- Yes! You ride in a Limo! He was so excited after his first ride he was literally jumping for joy when he got off and was all giggles and smiles. A CM saw him and told him that he "loves it when kids love his favorite ride", took him through a back entrance and put him on for a second free ride!! You gotta love those great CMs. Have a blast and rock on with Aeorosmith!!

We rode it 14 times in two EMH nights last month with our 7 yr old twins. It was the first time they met the height requirement and obviously they loved it. We rode in all seat locations and agree that the back is awesome but your head does bang the headrests more back there. If you prefer a smoother ride you might want to go in the front.

Riding in the last Limo does give me a headache, but I love it anyway!

I went on it last year...it was my 1st time on a BIG, upside down rollercoaster. The beginning takeoff is scary :earseek: , but after the first few seconds...its all fun. :goodvibes

I went on this for the first time a couple weeks ago. I love roller coasters, but I was nervous about this since I had heard that the beginning is really fast and intense. Well, it was, but it was AWESOME!!! I LOVED it. I was sad that it was over so fast though, I wanted it to keep going! I can't wait to do it again. :)

The "take off" is the best part of the ride. I had to go on it 3 more times for the takeoff alone.

First of all, I want to you know up front that I am NOT a rollercoaster fan. So take that into consideration as you read this. I absolutely hate big hills/dips and the way it makes me feel. I enjoy rollercoasters that go side-to-side a lot, like BTMR and Matterhorn (at DL).

I checked on this very board for reassurance about this ride before I decided to try it myself. Everyone here played a large part in my deciding to give this coaster a try.

I haven't been to WDW in about 4-1/2 yrs., so my memories are a little old, but here is what I remember. The 1st time I rode RnR I was so scared that I closed my eyes and screamed the whole time. By the time I got off the ride my mouth was so dry I could barely swallow. :-) I also felt a little lightheaded (probably from screaming so much). My DH asked me if I had liked it. And I honestly couldn't say. I knew I hadn't disliked it, but did I like it? So i decided to try it again. The 2nd time I was much less scared, since I already knew what to expect. I kept my eyes open and only screamed from the exhileration and fun of it. When I got off from my 2nd ride I knew that I had totally enjoyed it! It was a blast!

Are there any big hills? No. Definitely not or I wouldn't have liked it at all.

Can you feel going upside down? That's a tougher one to answer. The first time I rode it I have no idea what was going on. I couldn't feel anything specific, but I don't know if that's because I had my eyes closed or not. The 2nd time i rode it, I kinda, sorta could tell I was upside down, but by the time my brain had really registered it, we were already on to something else and no longer upside down. The only thing I could definitely feel was the corkscrew, but between going upside down and the corkscrew I was so turned around i didn't know which way was up most of the time until the ride ended! :-)

Is it totally dark inside? Not as dark as SM, but if you aren't familiar with that ride then let's say it's not completely dark. You can see hints of the track from the neon lights that flash around. And you can see the road signs and such that they have up as part of the design, so it's not like riding in complete blackness.

The take off is a blast... literally. I was really afraid of how that would feel but it just turned out to be exhilerating.

Just the fact that you are considering riding it means you must like something about coasters, right? Depending on what you enjoy about them and what you don't like about them will probably determine whether or not you like RnR.

I totally recommend giving RnR a try. It's a very short ride, something like 90 seconds I think. So if you don't like it, at least you won't be on it for long, right? But I think you will like it.

OMG, I love this ride!!!!!!!!! Dh wouldn't go on it with me so I was seated next to a 50 something woman and we screamed our brains out together! What a blast!! I can't wait to ride it with DSS 11 next week! :cool1:

It's a lot of fun! Definitely give it a try at least once to see for yourself.

For me, it was the scariest ride I had ever been on in my entire life. I was in the back and got thrown around so much, I couldn't wait until it was over. My head kept hitting the back of my seat and the safety bar kept jabbing me in the stomach. It wasn't smooth at all to me. I've heard some people say that it isn't as smooth as it used to be?? I don't know. I hated it. I could definately feel when I was going upside down. I swear I almost peed in my pants.

I think you should go on it anyway because you might like it.

I laughed out loud when I read this! It's scary! It's horrible! I hated it! I almost wet myself! But go, you might like it.

Not laughing at you, MinnieM21. Just struck me as funny. :teeth:

The first inversion is really the only good part of this ride. After that it is a pretty plain vanilla roller coaster. The whole intro thing in the studio is cute, but I really would have hated to wait very long for this one.........

Ride it. It's a blast. The anticipation is the scariest part. Once you do it, you'll want to go again and again. :earboy2:

I totally agree! The not knowing is by far the worst part. I am a thirty something women and had to have my friend hold my hand because I thought that I was going to freek out before I got on. It didn't help that there were two kids behind me saying "it's alright, you'll be ok. I'm only 5 and I was scared the first time too!' The take off is scary, but I'm not a coaster fan. I don't like the drops in Splash Mountain, but I like Big Thunder Mountain. I was extremely scared and looked at my feet most of the time and sang loudly. After the ride was over (maybe 2min.) I was like "that's it?" That wasn't bad at all. Honestly, the worst part of it is the take off and that lasts only a few seconds. I'm glad I rode it and can have bragging rights to saying I did it.

:rotfl2: When I read my post I laughed at myself too. It's quite ironic how I talk about almost peeing in my pants, being scared for my life but.....yeah go on it anyway because you might just almost wet yourself too!!! :rotfl:

I was very scared of this ride when I first went on it, in fact I did exit thru the chicken exit. But the next day I decided that I really wanted to give it a try. I loved it!! and rode it twice! But I have to say, ride in the front to middle because the back is not very smooth. The second time I rode was in the back and there was a HUGE difference!

Have fun!

Our favorite MGM attraction!!! My dd, now 11, was too scared to go on it until last Aug. Now, I can't keep her off it. It is fast tho. A bit of advice to the ladies with long hair....don't put a high, middle of the back of your head pony-tail in. It will be pushed against the headrest upon take-off and it hurts!! The only way I knew we had gone upside down was when my shoulders hit the over the head restraint!! And yes, you can see a very little bit of the inside. There is, if I remember correctly, one complete inversion and then some corkscrew type thingies. I don't really care for true rollercoasters but I love this one. Also love Space Mt and BTMRR. I say give it a shot. And the last car is rougher than the front ones!!!

I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove RnR. I rode it for the first time on my trip in Feb.

Let me give you a little warning. When you board and are waiting for the ride to start, swallow hard and take a deep breath, listen for the countdown. When the countdown gets to "1" you take off like a shot. Oh another piece of advice: DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES! :)

The family waited for DS to get tall enough so that everyone would experience it for the first time all together. When DS reached that great height last spring we actually made a special trip just to ride RnRR! The build-up to the launch is the hardest part, as you see those before you being launched, screaming, and you can't really tell when you're going to go. The ride itself is great, though I look forward to doing it again because I was more focused on DS (then 6 y/o) than the ride - the restraints blocked my view of his face, so I had no idea how he was doing. I kept patting his thigh to let him know I was there, lol! When the restraints lifted at the end of the ride, he had such a shocked look on his face I was afraid he'd never try another roller coaster - but then he whooped that it was the best ride ever! It is definitely intense, but in a great way.

P.S. Make sure your possessions are VERY firmly secured - my camera came out of the pocket of my fanny pack. When I reported the loss to the CM, he said the velocity of the ride generally shatters the cameras. :(

This is by far one of the best rides throughout WDW (IMHO). My son and daughter want to do this ride first thing and last thing before we leave. Heck the would do it only if they could. And they have been this way since daugher was around 6. Its an AWESOME RIDE!!!!
