We are looking to buy something for Christmas for our 4 children (ages 10,8,7,& 7). There is so much info out there. Looking for something suitable for the children. Drums guitar

I have Band Hero but not the bundle (I already had Rock Band Drums and a Guitar Hero Guitar). It's a really fun game and probably my favorite song list out of all the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games. Since it is from last year you should be able to find it for around $70 or $80 (I'm just not sure exactly where). I know Target had it for $44.98 a couple of months ago but I am guessing those are long gone.

we have the band hero bundle and my kids and families kids love it (matter of fact, last weekend, they all stayed over and stayed up ALL night playing it..)

my 2 are 7 and 10. The niece that was here is 5 and the 3 nephews are 5 7 and 11. Also, my teenage nieces love it also. It's really a good group gift.

Amazon has band hero wii bundle for $180. is that a good deal :confused3?? It is not available at walmart or toys r us. The sony one is cheaper but do I need the sony system again :confused3

$180 is kind of expensive since it is full price. The problem is that for these type of games the Wii version is usually the most expensive because demand is higher and sells out before stores drop their prices. To get the Sony version, you would need the Sony system. I didn't know you were looking for the Wii version and I don't think it could be found for $60 - $80 that I posted about earlier since that is the price range for the Playstation 2, Playstation 3 and XBox 360 versions.

It's $144 at Gamestop, maybe a local store near you has it?

A couple of weeks ago, for Christmas for my kids (9 & 11) I bought the Beatles Rock Band set through Amazon which included the game (Xbox), guitar, drums, and mic w/stand, for $99. (They love the Beatles).

They currently have Lego Rock Band, which they've really enjoyed.

I'm going to be in the minority and say don't waste your money... My dh, myself and dd4 LOVE playing rock band and guitar hero. We have it for PS3, and have the drum kit. We have the guitar hero playlist that includes alice cooper, guns n roses, poison, social distortion, smashing pumpkins to name a few, and we have beatles rock band. My ds HATES the games, he just can't "get" the guitar or the drums even on easy setting. He hates playing the 'no fail' level (where you can stink wicked bad but you won't get booed off the stage) because he knows he stinks at the game and it's set for "babies" LOL!

The drums are VERY hard imo, and it took my dh a while to get used to them.

The microphone is also very hard, but my dd has a knack for it (she rocks on yellow submarine LOL!)

If your kids have played it before, show just a bit of ability, and really like it then give it a shot. If they've never played anything like it before I'd hold off because it seems like kids will either love it or hate it.

YMMV, of course.

:)

We have Band Hero. I have a DD11, and I think the songs are more appropriate for younger kids than rock band or guitar hero, and it is a lot of fun. We play it with mixed ages when family visits and my daughter plays it with her friends. Drums are difficult, the guitar and bass can be too for some people. The kids always want to take turns on the drums--it hasn't deterred them. I think it's fun.

My son (6) has played Lego Rock Band for the PS3. My son's not so good on the regular rock band, but he can play the Lego version really well.

It might be a good "intro" to the Rock Band games for them.

in all the rock band and guitar hero games there is aome questionable subject manor, so think about that as well.. that being said, these games are a blast, but i think they kids might need to be a bit older to REALLY enjoy em, and make it money well spent.
we have people try and return em all the time because there kids didnt like it, or couldnt get the hang of it.
but if you buy it, youre stuck with it(opened software)
by the way, if anyone ever wants to play rock band with me online(PS3) PM me :)

My kids both like the Lego version at 10 and 14 (well they were 9 and 13 when we got it). I wasn't nuts about the lyrics of the other versions (though we got Guitar Hero as the bundle- the kids don't play that.)

Another vote for Rock Band and get the Lego version of it. Our nephew (8) loves playing Lego Rock Band when he comes over to visit.
