Rochester Airport and other Q's

anyone have suggestions on a good hotel?? Need to be able to leave our car for the 4 days and hopefully they will have a shuttle to the airport - less $$ is better but must be clean!!

Also where do you suggest crossing over to get the Rochester? Haven't used Rochester before. How far ahead do you need to check in? Flying with air tran if that matters!

Also when do you get seat assignments with Air tran? Do I need to check in online ahead of time?

So many questions so little time!!

I'm from Rochester, moved to NC a few years ago, but still go through the rochester airport once or twice a year.

There is a Fairfield Inn almost inside the airport, so you'd be very close and I'm sure you could leave your car there or use one of the very cheap park and rides right there. I'd do that or the HOliday Inn airport. THe others are father away. THe airport and surrounding area are very easy to navigate, so no worries on getting lost.

To cross over you'll need to go thru Niagara Falls. The airport is about 2 hours from the border. You only need to be inside 45 minutes to an hour before your flight - the airport is small and not ususally very crowded. Hope that helps. Enjoy your trip.
