Roasted Duck Breast @ San Angel Inn

Wow, it sounds really good! It would have been great to have heard from you that night.:goodvibes

Hopefully we'll be in the world together one day and I can buy him another!:cool1:

I hope we can be there together too, but not for that reason. I'm so glad you all wanted to know about that dish, he is too. It really was amazing!

Here is the picture of Larry's duck at San Angel Inn.

Oops. I'll leave that one so you can compare. The chili came from my dish.

Anyone have this recently...still as good, still on the menu????

I'm calling for my ADRS on Thurs & I'm booking San Angel Inn solely for this entree. I have eaten there before, a few times actually, but not since they added this to the menu & I'm DYING to try it. :worship:

Anybody have it recently?? :confused3

My husband says it better still be this good in December. ;) He wants it to be one of the first meals when we get back to WDW. He thinks you should go for it.

My mouth literally drools every time I see your pic! :) I think I'm gonna take your husband's word for it... I'm just so worried I'm gonna sit down to order & it's not on the menu! :scared1: :sad1:

It is not on the lunch menu, just the dinner menu. If they take it off the menu you will see my husband on the news in December. ;) He talks about that pretty often. He's excited for you to try it!

:rotfl: You'll see me being taken out of Epcot in a straight jacket first 'cause it will be almost a year that I waited to finally try it... I'll be there the end of Sept, beginning of Oct.

I can't wait! The first time I ever tried duck was on one of my last trips to WDW during F&WF. They had a duck entree at the Chile or Peru booth & it was soooo good! I got the recipe off the dis & cook it all the time. Now every time I go to a new restaurant I look for a duck entree. This one looks like it will definitely be my new fav!!

I can't wait! I'll definitely report back for your husband if it's still there in Oct when I get to enjoy it... keeping my fingers crossed. :wizard:

Well after almost a year of counting down, today was the day I finally got to eat at San Angel. I have eaten there before, but that was before this amazing duck entree was on the menu, so I was SOOO excited.

We got there tonight & get on line to put in our name & I happened to glance the menu & can you guess what I noticed?!

IT'S GONE!!

I am soooo upset. We got up to the podium & we asked to make sure it & sure enough they took it off the menu. We ended up not staying. The duck was the only reason we were eating there. :headache: The Mexico CS is also changed, so I'm thinking they may have gotten a new chef or something.

So I just thought I'd let you guys know. :grouphug:

Bring out the straightjacket!

How has the Mexico CS changed? Do you know if the menus on Allears.net are accurate? We're thinking of going to the Mexico CS for lunch one day.

We were thinking of trying San Angel Inn for our third dinner at Epcot (first 2 are Biergarten and Chefs de France) because a friend of mine was telling me how great the food is there and the atmosphere looks beautiful (I've seen some pics). I was not planning on ordering duck though, I was planning to do that at Chefs de France if they still have it there when we go. I have to wait all the way until July though!

If you look at the menus on wdwinfo.com for Cantina San Angel(CS), the only thing that is still on that menu is the nachos.

The menu for San Angel Inn appears to be accurate on wdwinfo.com but not accurate on another website I always visit.

Looks like the change in menus happened sometime between Jan & April '09. So depending on when your friend went you'll be able to tell if the menu is the same. Hope that helped a little. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much! She was there in early July so I will ask her more about the food. I will also check wdwinfo.com. Thanks again!

Thanks for the info MissMet. My husband is so disappointed. This was one of his all time favorite dishes. I just told him and he is sad. We won't be eating there after all. **sigh**
