Roaring Fork at WL?

stayed at the Lodge (sounds so classy!) in Sept 06 and we loved Roaring Forks. DH & I would split a Bounty platter for breakfast - eggs, hash browns, bacon, biscuit, pancakes, juice & coffee. It was enormous!!! And you can get it all to go. One of the great things about WL is that you don't have to go outside to get your food! DS (16) and I liked the chicken strips & DD had some type of salad with apples, walnuts & chicken that was fabulous too! I have to agree when it gets crowded, the traffic pattern is not great but it wasn't a huge problem. You'll love it!!:thumbsup2

I like RF, but I don't like the way they do the hot food now. I preferred it the old way, where you placed the order, paid the cashier, and then they called you to a window to pick up the food when it was ready. I never waited in a long line (or had cold food) under the old system.

Now, you get in line to get the food, wait around the ordering area for it to be ready, then get in line again to pay. They really need to re-think the set up. I'm usually there during slower seasons, so it's not so bad. I can't imagine what it's like during peak season though.

But, then, I usually have some cereal, bagels, or doughnuts in the room for breakfast and only go to RF for lunch or dinner.

We ate lunch there Dec 06 and it was eh ok, same burger and fries that you get anywhere else.

We only ate breakfast there once, but other times we have walked past it to go outside in the mornings.

It was pretty crowded! I think Roaring Forks should be bigger, it always seems jammed.

The only other times we actually ate there were a few nights, if we were hungry, we would grab something. It wasn't as crowded, but it was during off hours.

I remember it the other way also..where they called you when the hot food was ready. Liked it much better, and it avoided that whole "bottleneck" area waiting for the hot food.
