If your two year old is able to feed herself/himself, then this is what we used to do. We'd stop at a restaurant that had a play area (I think you can search the McDonald's website to find which ones have it). Then, while one of us was feeding the baby, the other could play with the 2 year old in the play area. We'd eat at the same time. Not very relaxing but it was quick! When we got ready to leave, we'd order food for the two year old and let him eat in the car. This way the 2 year old gets maximum play time and is also occupied for the next 20-30 minutes in the car eating. Plus, they get the happy meal toy at the end as motivation to eat their food. My other tip for car travel is to take a blank notebook and as many stickers as you can find (even those free return address labels you get in the mail) and let them peel the stickers off and put them all over the pages. A cheap, quiet and clean activity!!
